JR 28x information

I'm not so sure JR drove the split, I don't know everything, but there were things HH did that caused JR buyers out of the USA like me big problems!
DMSS is fabulous, I've been flying it since day one and it has been faultless and tolerant to some rubbish installations I have seen.
Love the Xcalibur in both sizes, the Xcalibur+ is super smooth, it surprised me last weekend in conditions that kept lots of models grounded.
Brad, I have your neck strap now. You in blighty any time soon?
Dave

warbird the 712 is not a 7 channel receiver it does have 7 pwm ports but it has a xbus port that you can plug a hub into that allows you to run the 1 into 4 harness and program them to be any channel you want up to 28 channels. The way to think of it is the 712 is a infinity receiver with 7 pwm ports.
- 7-channel Standard PWM output and single XBus output can be used in parallels

I don't necessarily agree. In the 28x I had to activate all 28 channels, and therefore the Rx has to be receiving all 28 channels.

ok , just because you activated all channels in the TX doesn't mean your receiver follows suit . you only have 7 channels if you use the conventional ports, xbus allows you to expand the number of servos you can have on one channel "up to four servos per channel" and within that the xbus allows you to choose which servos run what . thus you can run up to 28 servos . you can also choose which channels you want to use 1-28 but you still only have 7 channels. if you could run 28 channels on a 7 channel receiver ,then you wouldn't need a 11 channel receiver or an infinity receiver . hope this helps , WB_1

spike , also ...JR told me you still need a receiver , any receiver with Xbus to send a signal to the infinity receiver " which the 28x, came with it" that will allow you to use all 28 channels .. all of them. As far as your cv4 goes... that's only a converter cable you can run 4 servos on one channel or any combination of channels up to 4 on that for example. you can run two aileron servos and an elevator servo and rudder but you can only have 4 channels or four servos on one channel . i hope that makes sense. in other words it doesn't add channels just function of the existing channels

you keep saying the 712 is a 7 channel receiver and its not. It does have 7 pwm ports but with the xbus you have all 28 channels available to you to use not just 1 to 7. Ive been using xbus since last year and own about all the dmss receivers. The 11 does not have xbus so it is limited to 11 channels.

The reason we are getting a infinity is because JR americas thought some would like it better and as a thank you for the people that had preordered the 28 last year. Everywhere else in the world they just get the 712. The manual never mentions the infinity only the 712. if you noticed the infinity was in a bubble wrapped package, it was put in later.

I have a 2 7 Channel Xbus receiver RG731BX with a XB1-14 DRS 14 port PVM converter with Dual Redundancy ( 2 Life 6.6 v) in my Mirage
I use 5 channels with XBus (Ailerons, elevator and rudder) and 8 with regular port. Throttle , doors, light etc..) The XB1 -14 is great .
I bit of head scratching at first .. you really need the small XB1 -CPG : Channel programmer who make life easy.Of course with Xbus cables and convertor. When done all fine ajustement can be made with the radio, here is not with the 28X yet it's with a XG 14 Radio.
