Do a cold boot up. Had this happen too. Put the charge plug in and pull it out and you will get a cold boot (the long start up). Or just wait a few hours until it does the long boot up. Or, unplug the battery and plug it back in. Fixed the one I have.

No. Its a blank sheet of paper and totally different to previous Radio...totally different to anything JR before.
Its massively capable, but will take some learning. I've just returned from a few days holiday and took the 28X as a down time learning exercise!

One thing to keep in mind is that with xbus it saves you channels compared to setting one up on spektrum. For example a twin tailed jet with steering would be 3 channels on spektrum if you wanted to be able to adjust each channel separate but with xbus that would all be on 1 channel but with the ability to adjust each one separately. With the Duo it has 14 pmw ports but 2 xbus ports that allows it to be expanded with the hub and the 1 into 4 harness. Just like the 712 receiver has 7 pwm slots but with the xbus port you can run 28 channels.

it's my understanding that each servo can be programed individually though xbus so my thought was there should be away to assign a switch/lever or trim tabs to that servo while still under the main control of the rudder channel i did this on the 12X but i had to use a separate channel which you may have to as well. i'm not an authority on xbus but just my opinion based on what i have read.

The rudder trim affects all the servos attached to that main ID. I just wondered if he had found something else. I haven't. I just attached an aux channel to the rudder stick and then mixed one of the rotary knobs to that channel for trim. That's not a clean solution either since the steering continues to work gear up.

Mine will not connect either says out of range all the time. Seems to be some problems with this radio. My only replies on questions have come from Ryan no one else from JR Americas responds. Also the one update on JR Propo website is still not in english.

So I just tried to connect mine again, my wifi signal is not in range sitting next to the modem. Five other wifi sites on my street the signal is excellent?

As to your workaround, can't you assign your aux steering channel to only be active when the gear is in the down position?

Did you put in your wifi password? I was having this issue till I scrolled down and found it was wanting my password before I hit connect. Couldn't see that until I scrolled down...
