Amazing weekend at Bruntingthorpe, massive thank you to the airfield owner, fabulous facility...huge! Roger and Jamie did a great job escorting everyone in and big thanks to Roger, Jamie, Geoff, Chris, Paul R and anyone else who did a stint of flight line control. Things worked smoothly and there was constant flying with no major hold ups. Even my drive home was traffic free!
Top weekend.
I did a quick test fly on Steve Prior's C&C Viper, usual Steve model just needed minor trimming. P-100Rx for power, JR 28X.

WOW ! Yes what a great day today.
I was in the right mind with no distractions to empty that pesky fuel bowser today, the airstrip was amazing, tucked away in our own little paradise, compact and bejau with a hop over the far trees-i could almost imagine the backdrop of mountains.
The slick operating flightline-very smooooth.
The gentle wind down the runway and the sun beaming down from above, having to have the cap on for back up was only needed to stop be burning me bonce-which is already recovering from a high intensity slaughtering, yesterday went bareback so to speak, all day stood watching Popsy performe for her first public dance appearance, priceless and wouldn't have missed if for the world.
Not enough weekends in the month.
Anyway huge look me in the eyes and said with a ferm ✋-Thankyou to each and everyone involved in allowing us to Fly at a great venue, including obviously my wing man Rog-for pulling me gear switch for a dead stick landing.... Me engine thought it would be OK to spit a blade out the back.
Great day none the less, landing was a non event and picture of the day....
My gryfon on its long shallow take off with the tree's in focus-apart from the heat haze, great picture and to you sir for allowing me to relive the memory of what is so great about this hobby
Cheers

May I add my sincerest thanks to all concerned with Brunty this past weekend, particularly to Ian Wilde who initiated access, Roger Kilbey ( and for the tea, Roger! ) our chief negotiator and all who volunteered to help, and not forgetting Alistair Powers for the many photos.
And thank you, too, to the owners of Bruntingthorpe, C Walton and Co, for enabling access to this superb site at an affordable cost, I do hope we can return soon!
I have been fortunate to attend many jet meetings across the world, Brunty was as good as they come!

Next up...this Cougar, superbly flown by Toby Newton, is built from a Skymaster kit and is 85 inches wingspan. It is powered by a JetsMunt Merlin 160 turbine engine. Flown on JR radio with a Powerbox Royal SRS in the model with a PowerBox iGyro.
