Default Looking for Flameout Alarm setup suggestions

What’s the best parameter or parameters to use when programming a telemetry alarm for a flameout….RPM, EGT, pump voltage?...and what values? Also, is there a way to do it so the alarm does not go off before startup because if not, it would need to be canceled and then reset somehow after start.

I’m using a Jeti DS-24 transmitter but I’m thinking whatever setup is best can probably be programmed with most modern radios. Looking for suggestions.

Thanks,
Craig

In Alarms set an alarm based on pump voltage (X< 0.2) to be switched by MX1 in telemetry controls, this is obviously lower than normal idle voltage.
In Telemetry controls set MX1 to monitor EGT and only switch when above 200 degc (X>200).

You won't get the alarm during start up as it's waiting for an EGT increase, you will however get the alarm when you shutdown normally.

Craig,

Link the pump voltage alarm to a logical switch of EGT >200C and the engine kill switch in the run position. That way you won't get the flameout alarm when you shut the engine down normally.

Good suggestion Paul, thanks. I think I leave off the engine kill switch link until I confirm I get the flameout alarm on my next shutdown. My programming skills with these alarms and logical switches is limited and I want to be sure I've done it correctly.

I setup an alarm based on RPM.. when RPM is below idle RPM will trigger file “Flame out”. The alarm is activated with the throttle trim switch. Simple and works well...

I also have an alarm for when the RPM is above idle for “turbine running” this is for events of “auto restart”... if your turbine has the auto restart function. Still use the throttle trim switch to activate this alarm as well...
