Default Help! Support your Ducted Fan here!

Simple. Im tired if JP4's stepping on my toes on every single forum. Let's unite by simply stating your name (or nickname), country or state, and airplane/engine you fly. Let's see how many DFers there still are. (I hope more than 5)

David,

I am just a humble DF guy as well, although I don't find the 'JP-4' guys 'stepping on toes. I do find the turbine guys overall fairly informative, as most of them flew fans at one time or another, and they have a wealth of experience to share. Once I get off my behind and get flying again, I plan on joining them. Even then, I'll most likely keep my DF planes flying.

I get along just fine with JP4's, don't get me wrong!! But please, support the DF cause, keep em flying so that we can be supported by kit manufacturers (and hopefully, OS engines).

Well, I hope OS doesn't get completely out of the DF business. I'm planning on buying two .46 VX-DFs in the near future. I love turbines, but they're out of my league. As far as the supply of engines and kits go, though, they'll make them if they sell them. They won't make them based on promises, like mine above. I had a theory that the rise in popularity of turbine powered models might actually result in a revived interest in ducted fans--the idea being that lots of people will see those cool jets flying and realize that the only way they can get into jets is via ducted fan. At least that's true for me. I have no idea if this holds true on a larger scale.

Thanks,
Paul

Not a DF flyer yet, but this may be the case before end of 2004.

I already have : Ramtec/OS91VRDF/PMP pipe all NIB.

I will probably install this power package in a scratch built A-7.

Have plans for a 10' Lockheed U2.
I was going to buy a new OS .91 plus a fan and I guess you can't buy .91's new any more.

There are several I saw in the marketplace however.

HI, at under 2 grand it is a lot cheaper to crash a ducted fans, all planes eventually crash, so I tune up with my ducted fans first.
