Byron F-15
I purchased a Byron F-15 and do not have the Instruction manual. Does any one out there have a set or know where I can get one? Also looking for tips on Turbine modifications for wings and tail. Any tips are welcome. I cant wait to see this beast finished. Mike

Try Iron Bay Models. They bought the rights to the entire Byron Line a couple of years ago. May have the manuals back in print.

Any ideas on stabs, wings? How did you re-inforce these areas? Fusalage re-inforcing. # of eng. Did you use one Turbine and if so how much thrust? Finished weight dry. Do you have ducting for the Turbine? Any PICS would be helpfull. Thanks Mike

Hi
No I do not have pictures of the mods but will share the information with you. The wings were mounted on a 1inch four foot carbon tube. the tails were mounted on 3/8inch carbon rod running in two ball races each. The tails were controlled in the Avonds method using 8411 servos, you cannot get enough movement from the original Byron set up. The model has a 1/4plywood keel down the center of the fuselage from the back of the cockpit to the first U/c engine former. This keel carries the engines, the fuel tanks, the fuel pumps and all the electronics.
The control is moded to aileron and elevon with a gyro on the ailerons. The model carries 6 liters of fuel and weighs 50lbs at take off, but with 54lbs of static thrust is a joy to fly.
The main U/c was modified considerably with metal legs and was also driven electrically this mod is quite involved, I can though elaborate if you require. The model though is great to watch as my club mates always tell me

Mick, thanks for the info. What power are you using? I am also considering the Tail mods as you have stated. I will keep you in mind when the building has begun. I have several projects to wrap up first. Mike
