Wow, I wouldn't call 9462 a generic, I'd call BVM's aeropoxy, 9462 with a fancy label Get your hysol at dreamworks and buy the gun at mcmaster.com do a search on RCU for "mcmaster" and author "seanreit" and you will find a list under a thread related to an expensive bolt. In that thread I list the part number for the gun at mcmaster for 20 bucks.

You can also find the gun on ebay for around 8 bucks if you look hard enough. It's a 50 ml epoxy gun.

Good Luck,

Sean

PS, I go through about 20 tubes a year of this stuff. It is a very good epoxy.

Wow, Loctite could get twice the price for 9462 with a BVM sticker on it!

I don't know. I've never been 100% convinced that Aeropoxy is exactly the same and Hysol. Every tube of Aeropoxy I've had has always been a different color (whiter) than every tube of Hysol I've had. BTW, I use Hysol for my stuff which is why I suggested Dreamworks after I corrected his misconception about the price of Aeropoxy. I've had plenty of tubes of Aeropoxy supplied to me for customer's planes, so I've probably seen as many tubes of one as the other. Maybe is just the lot they came from, but they've just never looked to be exactly the same stuff - although they've both seemed to work the same.

Not yet, but its on the schedule for this summer. I keep getting projects for other people to do

The structure is %80 finished, the P-120 is installed and the glass work is almost done. The last thing I was hung up on was making the sliding canopy, but I got some parts from BVM that they made for their big F-86 that will do the trick. As soon as I finish the F-100 I'm building for someone, I'll be back on the Panther.

I have looked for 9640F all over but can't find it. Has Loctite discontinued it? Does it have a new name? I gave my last two tubes to a club member and am looking for another source.....I guess I'll call Todd at dreamworks.......

You've transposed 2 of the digits, which may be why you can't find it - look for 9460F, not 9640F.

Did you try Gluguru ? They still show it on their web-page, though that may be out of date. http://www.gluguru.com/Datamenu.htm

Only downside with Gluguru is that they require a $150 min order (or at least they did the last ime I put an order in - which was about a year ago).

HEY KEVIN!!
You still buying Hysol? I can use four cases, two of each, 9462 and 60. If not, that's ok, I'll try to find it here. I would suspect the price has gone up a few cents since your posting of the five buck price, that's to be expected, but not too much of a hike. If you don't want to fool with it (in case you don't have anyone to get in on the order) let me know that dealer and I'll order directly. I will also get enough in case some of your buds might just need a tube or two. Thank tons!

Alternatively, you can pass by the shop in Cypress. We have 9462, E-20-NS, E-20HP in stock.

I've switched to six-10 adhesive by west systems. Comes in a standard caulk tube size. Near 4 times the glue for about 25.00 incl. Tax. Buy it locally at a marine store

How do you compare six 10 with the 9462?? viscosity?? drying time?? strength?? would you use it as a replacement for 9462??
Thx
Vin...

It seems a little thinner than 9462 but does not run. I have used it to wet out fiberglass cloth. Also have used with milled fiberglass and by itself. Working time is about 50 mins. I let it set overnight just like 9462. I haven't bought hysol since i started using it. What i like most is i can walk in the store and buy it. I don't use the mixing nozzel, i keep a few syringes on hand for tight spots. Cleans up with alcohol
