The gear on mine has been a big issue as well, did SM send you the updated air lock cylinders? If so do you still need to slow the gear coming down? With my mechanical valves not sure how to slow down one side unless I can put some type of servo travel slow on one direction. Danny Diaz made a stop bracket for his I thought about trying that method. I have two valves for the mains with both feeding the nose.
Updated lock cylinders??
I had the shaft on mine tear out of the piston when slamming down.... there should indeed be a mechanical stop to prevent these forces going to this tiny cylinder.....

Anyways, here it is again just in case, choose a JR compatible arm and cut them short would be the way to go, in my opinion - "maintaining the integrity of stab servo arm is paramount!"
As with flap slop, I had two pieces of brass plates glued into the slot and worked great!

Thanks Barry, a part of me wants to swap to a JR servo but with my current setup is futaba, I will roll with what I have an work on finding a replacement for futaba. The SWB is too thick, but maybe I can send him one of mine and have him make one.
Wim sm said they had a batch of bad lock cylinder and they sent me a new set. They have longer threads on the end

well broke another lock cylinder today just working the gear manually on the table, looks like the only way to get these things to work is with the airtronic valves so you can set a slow on the gear down. I wonder how SM delt with this issue?
I also just put a inline restrictor on the line the extends the gear, it doesnt seem to slow it much.

Cool idea but at this point I think its easier to get two Jettronic valves and throttle the down only. The gear seems to close up now just fine even at pressures as low as 70 psi

Well haven't had a issue with this until today
broke 6 plastic ball links- no fun at the field
i think I have a fix
the bvm f-16 (jets legend) has metal ends on the gear door cylinders that are the same threads as the cylinder output rod ,this works ,may have to squish in a vise
it does not need to be a ball link as all travel is linear
bonus it's the righ t length
bonus you can put a spring on it from a ball point pen for positive locks with air off.
note put air restrictions on the down stroke
fixed this and broke a cylinder in half (poor threats contact)

I think this will fix breaking the plastic end but if I remember correctly this causes the air cylinder to pull apart. Not 100% sure but I think someone mentioned it, but it still be nice to have a metal end for added strength.

Has anybody used the xicoy CG machine on there F14?
if so, can you share your input data? Even if there is a couple of people with different numbers based on your CG, I'll take them all.
Thanks for any inputs.

Needs some info from folks flying this thing, do you need the full 115 mm on elevator and 93 mm for ailerons?
I have no trouble getting these throws with my servo endpoints out to 135% but im just wondering if its needed? Stretching out the servo throw like this is much better on the servo and helps with even wear and lets you get the best response from the servo. I know when the wings are back you only need about 20% of the overall throw.
For those with gears issues still it looks like the air valve throttle on the down to about 7 secs is the ticket, im still working turning this function down or off in the up position but still works. I am also adding this to the gear doors so they dont slam like crazy. Thanks

found a good fix
hysol or jb weld both ends on the main gear small locking cylinders
on the down air line side before the y use robart adjustable bleed valves, they have neat festo fittings on both ends and a dial on the top you can adjust the amount of restriction.
this does not seen to affect the up stroke as much as a standard double nipple restrictor, tried that it did not work.
hope this helps.
