A "little" somethin for you Maxx guys!!!!
Picco has just introduced a new .21 (3.5cc ) "Monster P2" engine designed specifically for the Traxxas T-Maxx.
The largest displacement possible using the current small-block configuration is about .18 c.i., or roughly 3cc. The big-block configuration is capable of much larger displacement engines, but to install it requires the purchase of expensive conversion kits. This new engine has a slightly larger "medium block" which is necessary to achieve the .21 (3.5cc displacement) yet it installs on the stock chassis and requires no additional modifications.
Full details are not available yet, but the engine appears to include a new mount to install the engine directly into the T-Maxx. A header mounting system similar to that which is used on the TRX 2.5 engine is also used on the Monster P2 engine to ensure the exhaust system is able to bolt on.
The Monster P2 is designed to accept the Traxxas electric EZ-Start 2 system that is standard on the TRX 2.5 engine, or will be available with a pull starter. Stay tune for more information.

perfect example of what this forum about. Useful info and to help new guys in the hobby. I personally learn a lot from here. I make sure that I check the forum everyday and see who can I help. encourage personal opinion to some extent and responsible enough not to hurt anyone. it is alright to brag however don't get to the point of being cocky. I notice that off-road guys always argue, who's got better faster,,bigger and basically acts like 12 year olds. just a question. competition is good but not here take it out to the tracks or out there. as far as I am concern lets have some fun, race a little, bash hard and let this monster toys play they look so awesome in action.

I was thinking(big mistake) but if this will drop into the Maxx with no mods what will keep it from dropping into a Rusty or a 4 tec 2.5?

WOW!!!
I'm glad I got my 2.5 working (wonderfully!!), as I was beginnning to shop for a Fantom or Sirio!
Now I can wait till I kill my 2.5 & look at THIS cool new powerplant!!
Gee, I wonder how my 2.5 will run @ 380 deg. I better lean it up & see what happens.

Wherdya get this info & pics????
I checked the Ofna/Picco site & couldn't find anything.
Can't wait for more info (pricing, ETA, vendors). Like I said, I'll probably wait till I kill my current engine (I'm thinkin' mid spring, with limited winter use), and by then the price on this engine might drop a bit from the initial MSRP that vendors will charge (and GET) when it first rolls out.
THANKS FOR THE HEADS UP!!!!!

One of the expensive parts of upgrading to a big block motor is not the chassis, but all the frive train add ons. Whether it be CVD's, FoC, or beefier Diffs. I wonder how the stock tranny, sliders, and diffs will hold up to this engine. No doubt someone is going to try it hehe. I have most of this stuff upgraded already, so maybe when it's time for a new engine, this could be the one.
Also with the extra power of a big block, handling can become an issue. Once again I guess we will just have to wait and see.
This engine does look sweet, and thanks for posting the info.....

I got the info from RCCA's webpage.I think Dlock is right about the drivetrain but even with a beffier drive train it will still cost less than doing the complete conversion

I ended up having to upgrade the stock drivetrain with just my 2.5 in there. So no worries for me about that but, I wonder how hard it will be to keep the front wheels on the ground? Thats allot of torque, wheelie bar will be a requirement.

When it comes out - I would say wait a couple of months and let them work the bugs out first.
Can you say wheelies on demand??!! Yes, I knew you could.[&:]
