8 port air leaks
Okay, my 8 port has been running screwy lately.
Starts fine, then sputters then shuts off while running as if too rich. I already blew couple OS #5 plugs, so I'm now running OS#8 and it hasn't blown yet. I'm assuming it's getting air leak and running lean, then rich, then lean etc.. Temps are around 250. I've noticed air in fuel lines too.
I sealed the pump on Savage tank, but no good, still developing air in lines. I've changed the lines. The exhaust nipple is blowing air, although not as much as I would think. I have an RB 086.
I did the under water test, no air bubbles came out of tank or fuel lines.
I did however notice the carb will move the slightest bit even when tightened down. Would this cause air in the fuel lines??
I checked my piston and it is heavily pitted from booster port sides to exhaust side.
I guess the piston is probably shot, but my question, would air leak at carb put air in fuel lines. I can see the air coming from fuel tank and then goes towards engine.
What gives??
I also ordered new fuel tank, just in case.
Wish the car engines ran as well and the heli engines. I've never had a problem with my OS heli motors.
Guess I'll try and order new piston/ sleeve, or better yet, Picco .26
