Well as promised the purchase for my next R/C project has been made, keep in mind this is posted on the other site aswell. In case you don't know what it is...its a 49cc gasoline pocket bike awaiting R/C conversion.
Enjoy.

RE: The purchase has been made!!
and more pics............. yes I have been very busy as you can see...I did not post a final pic of the conversion because with the fairings on, It looks the same as a normal pocket bike, only thing that gives it away as something different is the seat bolts protrude through the seat now (you don't want to sit on this bike!!), also there are no handlebars and there are now 8inch drag bars on the sides.
A bit of info....
Bike is a chinese air cooled model
I am using a Spektrum DX7 system for the radio
4 channels are utilized on this conversion.
At this time only using 4.8volt rx pack(hope to try 6vlts soon.)
hs 81 micro servo for ignition cuttoff via a micro switch attached to the servo.
Standard digital servos for steering and throttle.
Using a Hs 700b 1/4scale servo for the rear brake....at this time the front is disconnected due to the servo does not have enough torque to pull both brakes at the same time. will be upgraded in the future.
Any comments and or questions on the conversion?
Hope you everyone enjoyed the pics.
Chris.

RE: The purchase has been made!! Conversion begins
Thanks for the kind words guys.. Yes I cant wait to have a video made of it either, hopefully soon.
hmmmm r/c pocket bike class sounds interesting.
I hope my work and my friend's work from Au. has inspired some of you to tackle a conversion of your own. Just a bit of time and thought is all that is required.
The observant people will notice a bit of different mounting of the servos in the finished project compared to the beginning.

RE: The purchase has been made!! Conversion begins
UPDATE..................IT WORKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SCARY N FAST!, but amazing at the same time.
Stupidity however made its appearance too..
ANYONE that attempts this type of conversion do not rely on a ignition kill from the radio alone.
Accidents can and do happen.
Please be sure to have a manual kill switch as well as one on a radio switch.
broke my front windshield today because of this stupidity.
was making adjustments and when I fired it up....took off at about half throttle while I was holding it with radio out of reach!
wheelied, at this point I let it go, it jumped into the air and came down on the windshield luckily no other damage.

RE: The purchase has been made!! Conversion begins
more videos of this now posted.
A couple of quick clips showing this thing going down a straightaway at a local high school track. I wasn't able to drive it completely around the whole track because of the view available I had at that time. Soon hopefully I can drive it right around the track.
