RE: Official Nitro Evader ST Thread v2.0
I am really hoping that someone can help me...
I would really like to get a set of the RPM (Blue) chrome Clawz wheels but I can't seem to find which ones to go with. The Losi Clawz don't come in blue, yet I've seen Evaders on the forum here that do have blue clawz on them. Which ones for the front, which ones for the rear?
Can anyone help?!!

Ball diffs take a bit of experience to get used to, once you learn they are a really good set up for racing. Too tight & you will groove teh plates, too loose & you will melt the gear housing. If you drive it like you stole it you will shorten the life of it too.
I have writtten a detailed "how to" earlier in this thread on setting up ball diffs & slipper clutches. If you search for it I'm sure you'll fing it.

You should tighten it up, then back it off a 1/4 turn. You should also check it after 3-4 tanks of fuel as they have a break in period & will settle over time.

thanks for the link for the bodybut this is the reason I am asking if anyone knows where to get one. towerhobbies say they are discontinued and not in stock. I need to get a body for this evader as soon as possible. if anyone has one for sale or may know where to get on or another type of body that will fit perfect with very little modding. please let me know. Thanks, Dave.

I know this thread is probably dead and that the Nitro Evaders haven't been around for a while, but for those who might still be interested in them as I am I thought they might find this interesting. I bought a nitro evader three years ago but didn't really get into RC trucks like I thought I might (I normally fly RC aircraft) and therefore it mainly ended up in storage. Recently though my 10 year old son has shown an interest in RC trucks and wanted to get his hands on my Evader. Thinking though that it might be fun to run and race with him I decided to get him his own truck instead, and being familiar with the Evader went looking for one.
What we found was a Nitro Evader BX (in disrepair) and a green body parts Evader ST on ebay. I walked my son through the build but he did 90% of all the work, he maticulously demantled both trucks down to bare aluminum chassis plates and meticulously cleaned all of the parts. We then went through all of the parts picking the best ones an started building. The BX even had all aluminum upgrade gears in the tranny! He rebuilt the engine (to factory specs), and I bought a new bearing set along with a new body (forgive him but he really liked the HPI orange Firestorm body), and assembled a virtually new truck. We also found a JR XR3i radio/receiver matching my own on ebay. All said and done it cost around $200. Went through the engine break in process and retained the BX's clutch bell/spur gear assembly this thing really hauls the mail!
He's already eyeing up new wheels and tires, shocks, and wanting to send the chassis and muffler out to be anodized black.
I think I may have created a monster...

however i believe most 200 mm stadium truck bodies will fit you may have to make the holes for them to work though, i remember someone using hpi or hotbodies.

The other thing that you must consider are the front shock towers as the front dimples most likely won't line up either. However, if you use the front body mount off of the Evader DT (see link below) you'll be able to use other truck bodies as the Evader DTs front mount is adjustable VERTICALLY, and will bolt right in. You just have to cut new holes in whichever body that you choose, and then raise the front end of the body so that it is just up and off of the front shock tower. Again, also make sure that the rear dimples are in the right place. Hopes this helps.

Thanks very much for the reply I was planning to get the hpi body since it looks like the rear tower dimples and the front dimples are wide enough. Was the hpi your son used pretty much a good fit or did it need a lot of modding ? and thanks for the idea and link for the evader dt body mounts thos can really help. thanks again.

It needed very little modding, the rear shock tower dimples on the NITRO Firestorm bodies line right up and with the Evader DT front body mount all I had to do was drill new holes (in the Firestorm body) for the mounting posts and that was all. Here are some final pictures of his Evader, at present it also now has HPI Firestorm front hubs so he could use the HPI wheels (with Pro-line tires). Other then that it's all Evader.

RE: Official Nitro Evader ST Thread v2.0
heres a pic of my nitro evader st. I read through this forum and a few others and ive done a lot of the upgrades, but i wanted a larger fuel tank. Im just estimating but i believe the stock tank is around 60-65cc. And the only other upgrades ive found is the rc10gt tank, which is only 75-78cc. That doesn't seem like much of an upgrade to me, so I went searching and a found another tank that fits, and its 125cc!!!! The tank is an OFNA 125cc with the part #18047. Even with my engine positioned very far forward (due to a 22t clutch bell) it still fits. When you purchase the tank it has one tab on each end that need to be removed with a hobby knife. Then the tank can slide in with the tank center line under the reciever box lip. It locks in place on its own with no mounting screw nessesary, but i did still drill and mount the tank like normal. The inline fuel filter is not really needed as the fuel tank has a sock filter already in it

RE: Official Nitro Evader ST Thread v2.0
is there a set of beadlocks that fit the evader that dont hit the suspension
the only thing i could find are the proline 2.2/3.0 wheels and i think you have to buy the specific tires to fit them
i have a set of crawlers that are 5.8" tall and i want to install them with beadlocks only
ive used about 10 diff types of glue and epoxy. This truck just doesnt like keeping its tires on.
Oh and I've had my truck clocked at 65mph +/-3mph. I've got 22t clutch bell, 50t spur gear, and 5.8" tires.
Its not worth the money because its soo fast its uncontrolable, and my throttle servo needs to be upgraded
to a metal geared high torque because it doesnt squeeze the brakes hard enough to stop.

hi ev1....some advice...just recently got my nitro evader up and running again..bought a o.s cv-x .15 and installed in it...runs great n everything..was wondering though what mods would be good...i have already ordered aluminum shock towers front and rear bulkheads..and whatever other parts i can get in graphite....any mods i can do to the clutch shoes..like what ones would be better and give me better performance?....also any advice on how to rig it to where im not breaking a battery box off if i hit flip the truck the wrong way?....also what tanks would fit and be better to use then the crappy tank that comes with the truck?...right now im running a associated fuel tank on it....thx a millions guys
