ISSUE NO 1: PRESSURE SPRING THAT SUPPORTS THE STARTING PIN:

= Ever since i bought this last Jan 1, 2008. I been changing this for 3 times already. Bought a ROTO START which I thought will fix the problem. Nope until now it always break. So Im planning now to go for starter box which will by-pass the piston rod starting method.

ISSUE NO 2: DIFFERENTIAL

= The item is only one month old and whalaaa. Does not pull anymore when doing full throttle. Opened the diffs and found out no grease was in it! Very dissapointing!

ISSUE NO. 3 CLUTCH SPRING

= 2 weeks old when bought it. Clutch spring broke. Thats the reason why i am having a hard time firing it up.

Ever since I bought this, I only played it 2x in a race track. Most of the time I'm fixing it.

Do I need to write a complaint letter to HPI? I don't get enough support from the exclusive distributor of HPI here in the Philippines. They just don't listen to me.

As for the 21t, can anyone give me a link to what they are using in theirs? And is it jsut a direct replacement?

It's fairly typical for RTR's to come with minimal to no oil in the diffs. I am using 7,000wt diff oil in my Firestorm now. Works a treat, and the diff gears don't seem to break nearly as fast.

I had heaps of problems when I first had my Firestorm, went through heaps of clutch shoe springs. Fixed the problem by using [link=http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXVK12&P=ML]HPI clutch shoe set[/link]. Haven't had one problem yet with these.

Hey,

So far managed to break my Firestorm twice, in one week! I've bent one of the rear axles (my wheel now wobbles slightly as it goes round) the axles are £8.99 a pair though (5x41mm) could I use the RS4 axle £1.32 (5x40mm)? Or would that one mm in length be a problem?

How often do you refill the diff? I've currently got Associated 30K in there but I'll probably step it down to 10K. I know it is sealed but I don't think it is absolutely air-tight. On my brushless "E-" I notice minor seepage around the output cups...the upside is that the tranny gears stay lubed, but overtime I think the diff will eventually run dry.

I haven't noticed any difference, you could also try a 3 shoe setup, but you would need to purchase a new flywheel with 3 pins on it.

Every couple of months usually, you can tell when it needs to be redone by holding the spur gear still and rotating one rear wheel back and forth.

I put 50 weight in my diff and it turns it into a locking diff. You dont want to put to much on the diff because it is hard on the gears. It has worked great for months!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11

I've bought 10 weight oil for when I need to top it up/strip it, do you think that'd be ok?

back to my previous question, would the rear axle from the RS4 fit even though its 1mm short?

Return the needle setting to the orginal specs that are in the manual. Just put the idle screw just a little higher than org. specs.. Only do one thing at a time when breaking it in.

NOW THE MOTOR STARTED TO SMOKE
Smoke from the exhaust is normal.

Listen. Reset the high speed, low speed and idle screws.
Use the manual.

Start turning the low speed needle clockwise 1 hour increments (leaning it). Until it starts running better.
Then google or search here "nitro tuning" and read some more.

finally some graphite decks! Haven't seen one on a Firestorm yet but I couldn't resist getting one myself, only had it 2 weeks, and already spent too much on it! I promise I will stop now though...

I ordered mine from http://stores.ebay.co.uk/Mega-RC-War...18026569QQtZkm

Quite a bit cheaper, and compared to UK prices, a bargain! cost me just over £20 delivered, but is £35 in stores here!

If you get moab 2.2s you will be pulling wheelies like no other! But with the right tune you can pull wheelies with the stock tires as well.
Try the pinch test to see if the low end is to rich.Pinch the fuel tube(Not the pressure tube)and if it takes 3 seconds or more 'till the engine shuts off, then you are to rich(on the low end)If the engine shuts off at 1-2 seconds, then you are about right.
After you did all that, you still should see a nice trail of smoke at take off.
