One way to get more power is to widen your exhaust header to match the width of the exhaust port using a dremel. Any dramatic changes will require a new engine, though.

Things are moving along with my big block. I am waiting for are a few more differential shims (put one behind each bevel gear and will need two behind each of the other two), differential grease, the revo spur gear and engine to arrive. So no more work to be done for another week or so...

I finally hit the point to where there isn't any other modification that they make or that I can do to my Firestorm now. I just put a RB2013 on road pipe with the conical header. Man this thing sounds like a drag beast. Here is a video I made of me and my brother dragging again. Its not a very good quality video and I have a hex that spun in the rim earlier in the day so it keeps jumping to the left and I have to steer it to the right the whole time so it's not wot. This is just to show you the potential of these trucks and to see what you guys think. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NNlAsPOPPyg

Unless you change the motor, up the bell gear teeth, or higher nitro % like nitro-rob said dremel out the header. When you take it off you can see how restricting it is by where the gasket marks are.

RE: -=OFFICIAL HPI FIRESTORM THREAD=-
Hi there.
I have just taken apart my G3.0 engine to clean it up with nitro engine cleaner then I put it back together.
I also sealed the engine following some guides for this procedure.
After cleaning it and puting it back together properly (head screws well tightened in X pattern etc.) I found that the compresion is weak.
If i hold the car by the pullstart cord it slowly loses compression.
Someone told me that it's normal for a freshly cleaned engine that is dry to lose compression but to be honest I am a bit worried.
I have a good tune on the engine and it was never too lean and hot, it's fairly new and I doubt there's a problem with normal wear, and I'm positive that I rebuilt the engine properly.
Anyone has any ideea what can be the issue ?
Thanks

I didn't have the chance to run the car yet and I have dropped a bit of fuel in the engine because I have no after run oil.
It feels better but when the piston reavhes the compression point i van hear a little hissing sound and the compression slowly goes away...but much slower than when dry..... If I pull the cord normally it feels strong.

RE: -=OFFICIAL HPI FIRESTORM THREAD=-
Bad thing guys. So I started preparing my new storm today and was planning on breaking it in. I put in all the batteries, did all the antenna stuff, turned it on and.....nothing happened! There is no movement in the steering or throttle what-so-ever! I replaced the batteries, checked the connections, checked the crystals, and still nothing. I think it has something to do with the power supply on the car because the servos don't even twitch when the car is on but the remote is off. I'm sure all the batteries are in the right when and all the connections that I can check are secure. Any ideas on how to fix this?
Also, how do you access the LSN? Just get a tiny screw driver?
And where is the servo saver for the steering servo? Is it inside the servo or somewhere in the linkage? A picture would be helpful.
Thanks in advance

Ok well i fixed the power problem. I'm still stuck on the LSN and the servo saver. Is the saver the thing that is sticking partially out of the upper deck right in front of the servo, or is it somewhere underneath?
and now that i got the power fixed i'm trying to break it in and this thing is a beezy to start. I've already ripped up some skin in between my fingers. any tips? It's not flooded, i primed it, glow plug is good and ignitor is charged, i tried heating it up with a hair dryer. I got it to fire once, but (stupid me) i forgot to turn on the remote so i had to shut it off right away or else it would have taken off.

RE: -=OFFICIAL HPI FIRESTORM THREAD=-
sorry for the double post, but i got the servo saver figured out too. now just the starting. i forgot to mention that the fuel is almost a year old, but it was stored sealed in the original container in a cabinet in the cool garage. should it still be good?
