has anyone driven an rc10gt2 and a firestorm? i know one is for bashing and one is a racer. but i just want one final say in my choice with the firestorm.

After running my Firestorm for about 3 tanks after break-in, I decided it might benefit from better weight distribution since the rear tended to carry a spin like a Porsche. I moved the battery pack to where the receiver was. Next I'll protect the reciever.

What I'd like for the the car is a step-up in wheel and tire size and a diff fluid that would give it more limited slip properties. Anyone help?

My clutch bell and wheels came in today.

Can't wait to get home and run it some.

Whenever i wasp utting on my new clutch bell, i noticed the stock one had turned purplish, like it turns form extreme heat.

Is this normal?

Whenever i put on my new clutch bell, i think there were only 4 washers total instead of 5.

Could that of been the issue?

Hey what temps are you dude's getting? Mine wants to run 250 or 260 especially in grass and I haven't even really dropped the needles much at all from stock locations, and it's not even hot outside.

the battery compartment on my car was pinching the wires from the battery holder, and ended up severing the red wire. Is there an easy way to rejoin the two halves, or do I have to buy a new pack?

You could solder it, or tie em together and elec. tape over em.


Best bet would be soldering.

So, driving around today, and after like 5 mins(just was enjoying the new 2t clutch bell effects), i flipped, and hit the right rear wheel wrong, and it broke one of the pieces that holds the arm to the pin.

Also cracked the front bulkhead (both pieces).

:(.

Are these parts that would be good to upgrade to aluminum? as i know aluminum can sometimes to more bad than good.

The bulkhead should be aluminum and after you have an aluminum bulkhead,then you can get aluminum a-arms.I would rather recommend rpm a-arms(once they are in stock),but the bulkhead should definitly be aluminum.

Actually, i think i'll jsut get the stock bulkhead set, and than that brace peice. Should be good after that.

I'm not sure that an aluminum bulkhead is made yet,but I'm keeping my eye on new era.;)

In my opinion... If you install a Front Chassis Reinforcing Plate for bashing and then hit something "again", You will damage some other parts, maybe more expensive than a factory bulkhead set or even the engine. I'm sure there's a reason for the "flexible" front chassis installed by HPI...

But!! it is a good upgrade for racing, beacuse it reinforces the front-end for more accurate suspension/steering tuning on the track.

mig
