For those planning to attend you can pre-register at:

http://www.patternflying.com/TempRegistrationPage.aspx

Well as we get closer it looks like the weather will be in the mid 70's for the contest weekend. We have pilot prizes from APC Props, Tower Hobbies and RC Report Online Magazine.

It is shaping up to be a great weekend of flying.

Hope to see you there!!

Well the weather was not cooperating for today. We were in the mid 70's until late this week and were threatened with rain and high winds for Saturday. The morning started rather nice considering what we were expecting. The temperature was in the low 60’s and overcast with a light sprinkle of rain now and then. Since we only had 15 pilots register, we ran one flight line. After the first round was complete, the winds kicked up and we ended up stopping the flying for the day due to the winds. Tomorrow morning we are hoping for clear and nice conditions to continue.

Here are some photos from today.

Man, I had everything loaded up, but the weather forecast chanced my mind. From Los Angeles, to Phoenix is 300 miles oneway, an I just did not
want to deal with the rain, but from the photo's things look dry. who is flying the Sebart Wind Pro S, and how are the standing looking. Hope
you guys, have better weather on Sunday.

I understand about the drive when the weather was not looking good. The Sebart Wind Pro S belonged to Murray Johnson.

The 30th Annual Sun Valley Fliers Championships is complete. We did see very good flying considering we had heavy winds on Saturday and rain on Sunday. Both days had the clouds that make it difficult to see your aircraft well. I want to thank everyone who participated in this event. We had pilots from 3 different countries (US, Canada and England) and 5 different states (Arizona, Colorado, California, Texas and New Mexico). I would also like to thank the companies that donated to the pilot prizes: APC Props, Tower Hobbies and RC Report Online Magazine.

Thank you very much for running a contest in some very challenging conditions Dave!! The company and food were outstanding and everyone had a good time even after getting soaked on the last round!! I hope your glasses get de-fogged soon Greg!! Man, those were tough conditions!!

In fact it was Chuck Schoen from Colorado who was flying the Wind S Pro. I was flying the Wind S110.

Sorry we missed you Jarvis. I have to go home to the north country middle of March so I won't get to see you guys until next year. Ding Dang!! I extend a verywarm invite to everyone to come up to Canada and fly for the summer where it is beautiful and comfortable! Having said that my wife tells me there is 6 in of snow on the ground right now....ha ha.

Anyway guys, it was a fun time!!

Cheers

Murray Johnson

So you are leaving before the Yuma contest next month, Are you going to the worlds in Munice inJuly/August ?, maybe we can get together at Riverside and fly
before you leave.Shoot me a PM on RCU an let me know.If I hope you and your wife have a safe trip back to Canada, and have a good pattern season

Hey guys looks like you were able to get some flying in on Sunday. Unfortunately, I was working on Sunday so I couldn't make it over to Phoenix. I'm lookin forward to making a few contests prior to the worlds.

Hey Andrew
If you are over in Yuma, there a contest on the 19/20 of March. The flying site is near the same road that goes the base.
