Solar Flare's & RC System's

There has been more solar activity from the sun, since Feb. 14. We used to hear the term, "Sunspot's", supposedly causing havoc with radio communication's here on planet Earth. Now, scientist are predicting stepped up activity from the sun, in coming year's. Can this solar activity have any effect on our RC system's ?

Must be caused by global warming.... 
Jokes aside no worries. Flares cause troubles (and sometimes improvements) on shortwave bands not a problem on 72 mhz VHF frequencies we use, or 2.4Ghz. Also, it can cause some satellite problems, 'cause it creates some weird ionization layers. But we aren't trying to shoot thru those layers either.
Possibly it could get skip, but 72Mhz is really high for that.
