Default Spektrum DX5e Power switch repair

So I was flying my Radian yesterday and I lost all contact. I discovered the power switch was faulty and according to several posts on the World Wide Web is a common problem and just a cheap switch.

I decided to share my fix for better or worse, as I am by no means an expert in this. I have scoured the web and found no detailed description on a fix so here is mine:

I jumped pins on the circuit board in two places which effectively has the transmitter on at all times. You can see my short jumper wires in the picture.

Then I wired a receiver switch between the battery pack and the circuit board. You can see where I did this whee there is shrink. tubing. The receiver swirch installes nicely in the original opening. II then driled a hole in the back for the charging lead.
I may have disabled the trainer function and original charge port, but my fix sems to work.

I also had the switch faile but I just removed the old switch and put a 2 pole double throw toggle switch on the front panel and rewired the it to the old switch connections on the circuit board with short lengths of wire.
