Default Spectrum AR7100 9 channel Heli reciever?

I have a new 9 channel Spectrum AR7100 Heli receiver I would like to use on a plane. It uses a 7.4v 2 cell Lipo battery. I have HV servo's so that is not a problem. I would like to know before I use it in my new 30cc MXSR if there is any down side to using this receiver in a plane.

The AR7100 is a 7-channel receiver, not 9.

A 30cc plane deserves more than one remote receiver. I would use nothing less than an AR9020.

I guess I missed the 9ch part in the thread you had somewhere else. True enough 7100 is 7ch oddly enough. Or the 7100R variant and you lose Ch5 for RPM control so its capable of 6 control channels when using rpm limiter. If 7ch is enough I still think it would be an ok choice.
I have to correct Andy though. The AR7100/7100R are capable of 2 remotes in addition to the main.
Plus the more robust power input leads and soft switch feature.

The only limitation is the power bus doesnt go directly to all channels. Ch7/Aux2 is only available on the regulated bus. I never had the need to but IIRC you can pull just the signal from the Aux2 port and power the servo from the direct voltage bus.

Thanks for the help guy's. I have decided to us a AR8000 receiver because of what Aerocal has mentioned.
