You can put the crystal in. It won't kill anything.

Whether or not the receiver works properly is a different matter. If you test the receiver by range test, you need to compare with a genuine Hitec crystal.

You don't mention the receiver models. Most JR receivers are single conversion and most Hitec receivers are double conversion, so the Hitec receiver is probably not going to work.

JR being single conversion does not mean the dual conversion Hitec receiver won't work for you. You'll just have to get the proper Hitec dual conversion crystal. 8 bucks by mail order if you look around.

Default Hitec crystals

I have used Hitec single conversion (NOT dual conversion) crystals in my Airtronics and JR (I have one JR receiver) single conversion receivers for years. They work perfectly for me. No range reduction at all. Happy safe flying being the outcome.

This is not a recommendation. Just a statement of my experience.
Manufacturers DO NOT recommend swapping OEM crystals with those of other brands.

A Hitec crystal for the Rx you have will cost less than $25 and Hitec Rxs work very well indeed. Just get the dual conversion crystal and you're away. Provided you have the JR compatible version of the Hitec receiver that is .
