Crystal brands ... any difference ?
Ok ... got a question ... would AIRTRONICS crystals work in a FUTABA radio and receiver ?( both older versions and both AM )
Reason - I can;t seem to find a mate to a FUTABA crystal that I have in the FUTABA brand , but can find it in other brands ...
Does the brand matter any ?
THanks

Even if it does work, I would not recommend it for safety reasons.
Typically, using another brand of crystal will result in a non-functioning system. There are a few exceptions though. Some people have reported success with Hitec crystals in Futaba receivers, but it will probably be more succeptible to interference, and reduced range.
If your local hobby shop doesn't carry them, they can order them. For the Futaba stock #'s, go to http://www.futabarc.com/radioaccys/futl20.html
And just a friendly reminder - It is illegal to change the crystals in transmitters, but it is legal to change the receiver crystal.
