Orion Wasp .18 on a NTC3
Hello everyone;
I recently bought a Orion Wasp .18 engine for my Nitro TC3 - everything installed fine and the engine runs. My question is, should this motor perform better than my stock .15 AE motor? The reseller rated this engine to be at 1.75hp @ 37,500rpm.
Any feed back is greatly appriciated!
Thanks,
Ernie

I have the Wasp .18 and this engine will smoke the stock engine. Have you finished your break-in and started leaning out the high speed needle? Engines grow stronger as more fuel goes through them as part of break-in. After 10 tanks the engine should be plenty strong.
BTW, I think the 1.7 HP might be slightly exaggerated. It's hard to tell, but I think my Fantom FR15 is as strong as my Wasp .18

Thanks for the reply...
I'm using the stock pipe and header - should that be fine?
Im still in the breakin stage, and probably will be for a couple more tanks.
Thanks again,
Ernie

I was thinking about picking one of these engines up. Did you folks buy the engine with the short shaft crank or the SG style? If you bought the short shaft did it require cutting to add the pilot shaft nut for the correct length required to utilize the two-speed clutch bell?
Thanks in advance.
