I bought my NTC3 from a guy who put the OS 18TZ on it and he didn't do any other modifications..nothing in the diffs, nothing...just slapped it in there and off it went. I'm extremely happy with it, especially since I only paid 160 bucks for the whole car!! Best RC deal I've made so far.

I looked on OS Engines site and it almost looks like the CVR version they say is a direct bolt in with the pull start version and it's side exhaust. The motor is really a bargain for brute power you get and the high quality of the OS Engine. Since I have the Team car I am going to get the .18TZP version and drop it in. And pick up a bump starter.

I heard the HPI X radials are great for parking lot use and get some foams for the track. Does anyone make a decent rubber tire along the lines of the X radial in 30mm wide size for the rear? I know I will need some extra traction with the .18 in there for sure.

Yeah I plan to use foams on the track for sure or maybe just start on the rubber. I know from my old electric days the foams get beat up in the parking lots and you end up loosing chunks of tire as well. So probably wont waste using them unless I had to for fun.

Do they make 30mm wide rubber tires for 1/10 scale? or some type of 1/8 scale? I only see the wides in foam that the 1/8's use.

Well I cracked open my Team NTC3 kit and I see for some reason they did not include the lightweight 2 speed one way hub and the blue aluminum shock caps but the plastic ones with the alum blue bodies. Talk about half A**ing it. I would have thought for the price they would give you these as well. Looks like I will just buy these parts seperately before I build it and do it right at least so I have not much to upgrade once it's all together. I know there is only benefits from a lightened drive train and would hate to wreck and blow off a plastic shock cap yet.

Does anyone know if the Factory Team's kit Blue rear Exhaust manifold header will work with the .18TZ ??? I am hoping it should just all line up, but won't know until I get the engine in my hands.

I think 20% nitro from what I hear for the .18TZ is what you can run without having to experiment with adding or removing shims. Or is there any chance you can safely run 30% on the motor as is from the factory with the P3 plug? I just have a few gallons on hand of 30% for one of my other vehicles and it would be nice to be able to use the same fuel, but not at the risk or hassle to really have to adjust things on the .18

I was looking at going with an HPI 350Z body and some deep dish wheels, like a 9mm offset. Will these be pushing the limits of the wheel wells and stick out to far or should they tuck well but be right near the edges of the body? Just trying to figure out the best way to approach this.

Yeah I have plenty of Byrons 30% on hand and I run it in my MGT 8.0 and like how the truck runs cooler and much better. So you only use 30 in your .18TZ as well? What plug, will the P3 plugs work ok or do I need to go with a cooler plug then? Stock head shimming is fine as well?

Thanks

Ok cool, because when I bought the motor I bought a few spare plugs and at 9 bucks a plug...Surely did not want to waste them lol Well I will go with the 30 then for sure...Just makes things simpler to use one fuel for me and I like max power and found the engines to run cooler on it....

Thanks

Well that is what I was getting after.....The motor is stock and not run yet....Can you tell me what shims I would need to put in there to run with this plug and 30 percent? I realize my area, temp, altitude is probably different than you...But if I shim as you are, I would think I would be in the ballpark and can tune from there?

When you buy the engine it has 2, you have to use the thicker one on for 30%, but read the manual
