Finished YTB 214 Tug *OPINIONS WANTED*
Well its finally done.My conversion from atlantic harbor tug into a tug that actually looks like it could be a real navy tug. I want to thank everyone for the great advice and help ,without it I doubt my tug would have turned out as nice now on to some pictures .Please let me know what you guys think. The only thing that I have left to do is dye the bumpers and fenders to make them look used. The front bumper is just mocked up so I could see how it looks on the tug in the water.Hard to believe she once looked liked the last pic.

Very Nice!! Rework and craftsmanship are top notch. Are you detailing the wheel house? Are you adding more details to the decks? What method are you going to use to dye your bumper/s? I used a combination of "Sharpee" markers and severely diluted brown and black paints.
Again,,I like what you have done. Thomas @ rmdesignworks

Thanks for the compliment. I used tea to dye the bumper and let it air dry.As for the wheel house I plan on adding a ships wheel and ship master. The decks will have some detailing ,some rope rolls maybe some chain im still waiting on my rope side fenders the last thing will be the name which my wife is going to get for me . other then that its done .I went for a YTB that has gone under complete restoration which is why i have not added any rust and heavy weathering. Heres some night pics of her with the lights lit up.

Aslvrfrost98csvt, if you are going to put a Master or other crew on your tug, they should all be dressed as enlisted people. The Master would be a Chief or higher(E-7 through E-9) wearing kacky(tan) uniforms, or possibly a Petty Officer First Class(E-6) wearing dungarees(blue work uniform). The rest of the crew would all be wearing dungarees. I cannot recall ever seeing an officer in charge of a harbor tug. Sea going salvage and rescue tugs or other fleet service tugs would have an officer(kacky/tan) in command. Your tug looks sharp. Have fun. Dennis
