EL MOD 45 Degree Defense kit
Hey Guys,
This is a new kit that I am offering for EL MOD IR Battle system users. This will allow you the ability to have the same 45 degree defenses as a Tamiya or one of my DBC systems.
I hope the pictures tell the story but I will be happy to elaborate and also if anyone has a better method in the steps please let us know. This is only the second one I made so I do always think of little things to make it better each time. Some tips are to center the CSI IR receiver unit the best you can, the LED do move left and right but it will probably not be perfectly even, but that does not matter. The crucial part that does matter is the alignment of the 4 sensors dot covering before you paint. Do not cheat on this as folks will notice these are the perfect size and just cover the very top of the part of the black sensor that comes out as if it was a head stone. That is where the sensor is, leaving that section open on each of the 4 sensors along with the shade cover or fins, will allow you to have the 45 degree defenses the same as Tamiya. You may not be a perfect balance but that is where you get to know your tank and what positions that you need to put your turret into to achieve the best results. I am not talking a huge difference but it may be more like 55 degree then 45 that depends on what the tank turret is like the position of the Apple, DBU or CSI and the limits of exactness in the system. Coming soon, Pricing is on the website...
Always keeping you in the fight,
Phil

Nice addition for ElMod Phil.
How much will the kits cost?

I cannot post that on the forum, but go to the first page of my website and click the center icon that says EL MOD Physics and you can get pricing there. I need to update the page because EL MOD is out of stock right now, they still have issues recovering from loosing their Japanese drive fet supplier, but I will have a ton of stock coming in by the middle of July!
Thanks,
Phil

The Tamiya unit allows the 45 deg defense outside of 5m / 15 ft. Inside that radius you can hit the tank from any angle.
How does that compare?

Hello Kevin,
Yep,. I have had in my DBC/DBU systems for years, all the guys who have bought them from me have this defense, the just need to learn how to use it! I had it in one of my EL MOd tanks since this video was made and now I am offering it as a Kit. Joe (Yellowshaker) used my first prototype of the kit at Danville with much good results. Here is some early testing I did a few years ago...

Good job, its nice to have the very same features as a Tamiya TBU on the better el-mod electronics.

Thanks Borealis and right you are, way more realistic! Guys take note of this post as I know in a month or so someone will claim that EL MOD or the DBU is not on the same level as Tamiya
