Welcome to RC Tanking. be careful as it is very addictive. Unfortunately, you won't find any M-60's, but Heng Long is coming out with an M1. I would stay away from the Hobby Engine M1, as I have read that it takes a lot of work to get it to operate well. For less expensive tanks, I would look at the Heng Long line. They offer both Infra Red tanks where you can battle each other ( they are not compatible with the Tamiya IR tanks ) and airsoft tanks that shoot plastic BB's. You can find them at Matomart ( matomart.com ) among other sites. If $$ is not to much an issue, then I would go with Tamiya. As you mentioned building models back in the 70's, Tamiya is still considered the Cadillac's of the Model world. Another big difference is the Heng Long tanks come ready to run ( well you have to charge the batteries first and add some outside details) The Tamiya's are kits. Hope this helps and any other questions you have, feel free to post here. All the members are very helpful.

Well i can't even remember the last time i logged in.I have looked in a few times over the many months that have gone by.I still see some member names that are familiar.Still have a lot of my tanks....RC planes...RC helicopters....RC boats....a few RC cars....(sold my big HO train layout ) And my house still looks like a toy store..... This is a busy time of year for me trying to get things ready for the coming winter months (yes it is just around the corner ).It is also the start of Salmon fishing for me in the rivers.(don't ocean fish for them any more ).Just a heads up that i'm going to sell all my tank collection and will be posting them towards the last of this month and early part of October.3=1/6 stuarts....1/12 scale....1/16 scale...1/24 scale models........

Hello all..
I'm in the process of getting out some of my tanks with plans of selling what i can after having them set on a shelf collecting dust for ???? (lost track of time )......Been a member here since 2006 and most of that time was spent here off & on here on the tank forum.I'm 71 1/2 years old and still like my toys and had a lot of fun messing around with all of them.I'm in the process of charging batteries and seeing what still works and what don't and what tanks i still have.I just did a quick count on just the radio's sitting on the shelf ( 42 different radio's ) that go to Boats,Tanks, helicopters, cars, and airplanes. Some of them i marked as to what they go with, but most of them i didn't and it will be a challenge just to figure what goes to what. For those who knew me as a member on here will recall i was never one who took this hobby as one who paid much attention to authentic details or scale.(was not a rivet counter... )I had a lot of fun putting tracks on vehicles that weren't ment to have tracks just to see if i could do it and if they worked. You see in a hobby you only have to please yourself, not everyone else and sometimes a few members just didn't understand that way of thinking.
I for sure didn't need any more airplanes but i was just given 3 more good sized airplanes (one a kit partially started that will be a bugger to build ) and a boat kit.I'm in the process of trying to get things in my play room organized and ready for the coming winter and decided some of this stuff has to go as it seems a shame just to let it sit and gather dust.I did sell my HO train layout which took up most of the room in my hobby room......What a buy that guy got.For those who seen pictures of it (posted some on here)it was 7 X 9 1/2 feet and three levels of working track with several hundred feet of track total.Worked on it off & on for two and a half years and was happy to say the guy who bought it seemed to be a really nice guy and had kids who were extremely happy to be getting it for them and their dad to work on.It was a lot of fun for me...
A couple of pictures of just some of my toys...

Hey all!
I have just joined the forum after going through and reading a whole load of posts, I recently bought a Heng Long Leopard 2A6 and I'm keen as to mod the hell out of it. Already have metal tracks, idlers, sprockets and road wheels installed, as well as uprated motors and metal gearbox - I have the hobby raw gearbox/motor combo on the way at the moment as well as some bigger capacity batteries. I would like to put a Clark TK22 in it once they become available again.
Anyway thanks for having such a knowledgeable and resource-filled forum!

It's not a tank, or RC, so I posted it here.
I picked up a 21st Century Toys 1/18 scale sdkfz 251/1 Stuka Zu Fuss, and two 1/18 scale figures, to use as movie props. I had some fun posing them with my 1/16 scale figures.

I was telling my son we used to paint jackets back in the day, so he talked me into doing one. Luckily I found five 20 year old tubes of acrylic in a drawer (blue, red, yellow, black and white). Missed out on a few hours bench time, but he's a happy camper.
