Default Is it worth buying a new gearbox

So for, I don't know how many months now, I have had one of my hooben gearboxes with a binding problem because the frame is somewhat bent. I tried installing tamiya pershing gears since I hoped it was just a gear problem (man those a nice by the way), but it seems it has to be the gearbox frame itself. I am not an experienced guy, and I really don't know how/if I can get the frame back into alignment enough. Is it worth just buying a new one? And if so, is there someone who can sell them tested to me so I don't have to worry about getting another lemon?

From my experience: Got a bent HL gearbox. Spent 4 days trying to adjust it, even to the point of using an anvil.

Nope, still caused issues.

Ended up buying a new gearbox and voila works flawlessly.

I suggest you contact hooben to get JUST the plate(s) you need.

Well, thanks for the advice. I think I would rather buy a complete new one though, as compared to trying to buy a new plate and hoping it works

Now that I think about it, is there anyone who actually sells just the hooben gearbox, besides possibly hooben themselves?

I was hoping I would have a supplier that was a bit closer, but oh well I guess.

Yeah, your pretty much SOL on that, but I ordered my T-55 directly from Hooben when they first came out and had no problems what-so-ever...

Yeah I did the same, just really don't want to have to deal with shipping and whatnot
