I would love to see a Matilda, Valentine, Churchill or Grant/Lee - in other words, some British armor.

There have been a lot of rumors over the years, but if you want one of these tanks I'm afraid you're going to have to scratchbuild them. That's what I did with my Cromwell and Crusader, and once I finish the t34/76 conversion that is on the bench, I'm digging straight into a Churchill, which at my pace is an 18 month project.

Still can't believe NO ONE has produced a British tank...

Are you my long lost brother? I want to do a Matilda next and a Churchill too, but the suspension on the Churchill is not my favorite kind of thing to deal with. When you did your Cromwell and Crusader, did you post photos here? If you did, when was that approximately? I would like to do an archive search to take a look at your stuff. By coincidence, last night I did a search on the Crusader Mk I and Mk II. I like that small turret up front, but the main turret is going to need a jillion bolts, which are the same as rivets to me, and I hate rivets. Maybe I could build "the only one that had an experimental welded turret". I agree about British tanks, ----- actually, all Commonwealth AFVs. And French tanks. And Italian tanks. And Japanese tanks. And ------ it never ends !!!

It's most likely because of the lower hull. From my scratchbuilding I can tell you that in order to fit standard HL coil springs, the lower hull will have to be modified substantially. I did my best to preserve the look of the M60 hull while incorporating a standard HL suspension for my build, but there is always the option of having a torsion bar suspension. In that case, Tamiya or Taigen are in a better position to make one, as I have yet to see a stock HL hull with torsion bar suspension.

REX, when I have to fit rivets in 1/16 I use small dressmaking pins, easy to make the right sized hole with a PIN VISE and a touch of superglue on the underside and finish by clipping off the excess pin. I fitted the VOYAGER PE front fenders to a TIGER 1 and finished it off with the pins to simulate the rivets, PERRFECT. shaun

Shaun ....
Hey! ---- I do that too. I have three different size heads and I also use small brass brads. The part that I have no patience for is measuring and spacing the rivet locations, drilling the holes, countersinking the holes so that the pins will seat properly, cutting them to length, carefully applying CA and pushing them in the hole without getting them stuck to me or my tweezers. Outside of that I have no problem with using dressmaker pins for rivets. I also use #90, #80 and other small size hex bolts when needed, but they are not cheap, and I am..... my worst case rivet monster was an M3 Lee, a couple of others came close. The ladies at the fabric and sewing store know me by my first name (I wear a disguise when I go in there).

Centurion. I'd settle for a crusader but really a centurion is what's needed. The we just needs a T62 and a new T55 kit for the Centurion to blow up.

I'd buy a Matilda senior as well.

Hey, Eric@imex, are you listening make a Centurion mk 5, market it al over but especially Israel and the UK and you'll shift a ton of them.

Hey Rex,

I haven't posted here in a while, but I've admired your work many times!

Here are my build threads for the Crusader...

http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/rc-t...r-3-build.html

And the Cromwell...

Hoping to be on the Churchill by the Christmas break. I'm just putting together materials for that build now... I'll post a build thread for sure.

That point just made me think, that with the steps Taigen took to fit 'unusual' sized or configured gearboxes into their T-34, the realm of possibility for other tanks that wouldn't fit the standard HL-style gearboxes really opens up. Think tanks like any 3-pieces transmission Sherman, Grant, or much smaller tanks like the Stuart, or Japanese tanks... in 1/16 they are all far too narrow for conventional gearboxes, hence some leeway in scale from the scratchbuilds that exist.

Also I'm voting a second time for a production Grant/Lee

Tanque ....

Which sWS? I must admit I had to do a Google search to find out what that an sWS was, and there were a number of images showing different types of vehicles with that designation.
