The Gepard you are looking at is in 1/8 scale not 1/16 and cost over 12000€ trying to get all the functions that the 1/8 model has into a 1/16 model will be difficult.
About 2 years ago Tamiya re-realised the Gepard though without motors which to be fair were not the best and took a lot of internal space the Gepard can be bought for about 400€ the price on your ebay link is a private price not Tamiya

In 1/16 scale I would like to see an Sd.Kfz.234/1

Yea I searched around some sites and found some lower priced ones..but most of them the cost's without electronics is in the Mid Tier RTR Tanks range ($400 - $500). Oh well...The one in the Video looks pretty darn neat...imagine that with an IR unit in those barrel's lol. I rather just save up the the $ for a Torro King Tiger which is 2nd of my Most Wanted list along with the British Mark V(WWI) which is my 3rd.

Here is my 1/16 Scale Tamiya Gepard Flakpanzer solution, a one off static kit converted to full option.

Go towards the bottom of the page to read about the build: http://www.rctankregiment.com/rctank...=2247&start=30

Tamiya 1/16 scale Gepard full option conversion operation video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=woqcfJXoVQk

For the USA, buy the static Tamiya Gepard kit here: http://shop.aaftankmuseum.com/Produc...ductCode=36208

Enjoy, John

2 Cent Tip: Perhaps "Rex" needs to retake his high school sex ed class, seems he got it all wrong....Sold this 20014 model build for almost 20 times Rex's "best" years ago effort. FYI: there is a huge world wide collector market for well done Tamiya models: TODAY. And I can always build another.

PS I would request a Tamiya Abrams Kit, full option, 1/16 scale, similar to the Tamiya Leopard 2A6 kit!

A WWII British tank, and I am not the fussy about which one.

A Valentine, Matilda, or the crusier tank line would be nice as you could build about three models from the same running gear.

Hey Rex, I was a thief also. I bought a Gepard when they came out also and many, many years later sold the kit for ( what was ) an outstanding price of $750.
It seemed a nifty model but I was never interested enough to built it.

I did just find an unbuilt Imai Elefant that I've added to my collection, couldn't pass up on the price. It will remain a kit as long as I have it. I just love that model....

My votes, not that anyone is listening. are Semovente 75/18, Sd Kfz 234/2 "Puma" and just for fun the British Grand Panjandrum!

Plus One, for Jerry's PUMA! A Tamiya Abrams would be GREAT as long as They Also Kit a T-72 Adversary!

You Know, I WAS going to Build My Old Tamy 1/16 Leopard and Gepard Kits but NOW, I'm seriously Thinking about going YOUR route Ross and Getting the Re-Released Version and upgrading them with Modern Parts. Then Selling Old Kits.

Ahhhh, Maybe Not.....,

As for a production tank from one of our core manufacturers, I'd want to see any North African tank the most... M3 Grant / Lee, Stuart, any of the Brit tanks

I should have mentioned the Gepard was kind of a basket case that was left on consignment when the hobby shop it was in closed down. It was burned out, worn out and had some detail pieces missing. There, I made myself feel better now (but I still wish I didn't sell it)

"Grand Panjandrum"? ----- Is that similar to the Obscure Oxymoron?

Centurion, IKV91. I'm hoping Tamiya would produce their WWI MK IV in 1/16th too.
I'd really like to see an LAV III in 1/16th, think that would be a good transition vehicle for RC Car guys.

I would prefer to see some trucks etc at a reasonable price, maybe some working anti-tank weapons might be good for a battle field as well.
