Default Slipper clutch material?

Took me a magnifying glass and bright lights to find the slipper clutch. I have tried multiple fixes mentioned on this turret rotation problem with my king tiger. So I am going to try gluing. Really don't care if it doesn't work because I can't get reliable operation now.

Now my question. What is it made of ? I need to determine the best glue.

Most likely ABS, but your best bet is to fill the gap with a modeling putty as opposed to just gluing, that way there is zero chance of movement.

Also make sure to take it out and clean it well. There is usually a bit of grease in it.

Most likely it it is either Nylon or ABS. Nylon would be my first guess for gears as ABS can be a bit temperamental but I could be wrong here. You can try to make some ABS slurry (google it, lots of people use it for 3d printing) or some really hardcore superglue. Bob Smith glue is pretty hardcore too.

You can replace it with a blue gear from the Tamyia dual gearbox set. It is a solid gear of the same dimensions and tooth count as the original so no more worries.

I've used just plain "super glue". Clean it well to remove any grease. You may have to clean and re-glue every few years if it fails. A solid (blue) gear will not fail, but offer no "second chance" if you push it too hard.
SAED also recommends a nylon wire tire around the gear box to help stiffen it up

Let me know if you nee picts of the gears.

Where do you purchase the "solid blue gear". A picture would be helpful if its not to much trouble.

Here is a photo of the kit I purchased. I am fairly sure that any blue gear from a Tamiya kit should work

They use a lot of 'universal' gears in different stuff. I have a box of gears from all different things, their mini 4WD racers, 1/35 RC tanks, etc.

When I changed out the plastic elevation arms, but had not installed limiting switches, my son and his friends took a bunch of tanks for battle. Since there was no slipper clutch, and the arm was now solid, the other gear on the shaft rounded out when they kept pressing elevation. Luckily, the spares box had a bunch of the same gears.
