Here are some photos of the finished paint work. I use the real braided tow ropes and painted them to look more realistic the the copper color they were. I also made all the tie down straps for the tow hooks using flat brass strips. Ive never done that before. It took a few practice attempts to get the right size and bend. I have done some slight weathering on the tracks wheels exhaust as well as some detail painting on the mg42's and a few other areas. Overall I am very happy with how it turned out. Like I said earlier this is my first time airbrushing or doing any serious modeling work. Let me know what you guys think or if I need to change anything on it. I kinda made up my own camo using a few pictures for reference.
Oh and BTW the color is not that yellow its much more subdued in person.

I am having an extremely hard time find 1/16 decals for the 312 tiger 1. I'd like to get a decal set that has all i need. Does anyone know of any sites I can try. I already tried the link given in the first page.

Didn't you say you had auto paint experience? Could you handle a stencil set? They're really more like masks, as they're adhesive backed like masking tape. Anyway, this is the stencil set for your tank

And don't forget the yellow band under the numbers. That should be pretty easy for you, just like a wide pinstripe on a car. I recommend that you spend the extra money for genuine Tamiya masking tape for this. You won't be sorry, and just about any decent hobby shop, including Hobby Lobby, will have it. Burnish it down real well with a q-tip.

I saw the stencils. I do have automotive painting experience, but I am afraid of the fine details of the knight and doing multiple colors. Automotive painting is no where near as detailed. The numbers and the cross I am sure will be no issue.

Here is a set for the command tank in 312's I meant Kompanie . Also found 133 from the first platoon. Maybe cut the numbers to read 313? And if you use decals you will need to use Micro Sol to get them to conform to the zimmerit.

Ravaging savage,
If you do decide to use the Peddinghaus Decals a word of warning, they are very flimsy and you should be very careful with them.
Shaun.

One of the things to remember with the peddinghaus decals is that the images aren't separate. It's just one big sheet of decal film so you have to trim very close to the image to get rid of the film around it. If you just cut a square or circle it will show when you clear coat. I've been thinking about doing a video but with the move I just haven't had time. I just tried my first set of those on a King Tiger and I learned a lot about what not to do next time. Aircraft decals are quite a bit different.

Hey... Tiger looks good!
Last time I used Peddinghaus Decals I misted some Testor's Decal Bonder spray to seal them but you do need to trim them some.

Here is a set from Canada on Ebay... It has 312 in it. Not Peddinghaus.

If the decals are flimsy when wet, spray testors gloss coat on the decal sheet for more rigidity. Let it dry a day or two then with a sharp exacto like cirus said, delicately gomaround each letter number etc to cut just the glossy top coating so it will slide off the sheet section when you dip it in hot water

Thanks for the link but I already purchased the Peddinghaus. They were not the easiest decals to install but I got it done with some work. I am going to do some light weathering and then a final seal coat of clear. Its looks much better with decals on it for sure
