Default Sherman disease.

I believe it's contagious. I get one Sherman from RichJohnson, and suddenly I find myself buying conversion kits and decal sets for more Shermans than I own.

What conversion did you get?

Rich has another one just about done and will be for sale.
I am sure he can sell you another, lol.

I think he is in full production of Shermans right now!

I only got one from him. But it carried the contagion. In the last week I've bought an M4A4 conversion kit, a few diff covers, and a bunch of decal sets.

All I wanted was a M4A1 to complete my Fury platoon.

I am trying to build my first tank. Sherman M4A3 E8 with Tamiya M4 and Nick Aguilars T23 V8 kit.
I am finding it difficult for a first build. Rich has been a huge help.

For that firefly M4A4 kit you need to lengthen a Sherman hull by scale 11 inches to be accurate. Otherwise it wont be, and that long rear upper hull hanging out the back of the tank will look weird. Keep in mind the US did not issue the M4A4 to US troops. It was only given to the UK for lend Lease and was given to all manner of allies from UK socks like the Free French, the Free Polish, Brittish Firefliy conversions, South Africans, and the Canadians used a lot of them. I would like to make a Canadian m4A4 from the Cherborg Fusiliers unit. They fought very bravely in the battle of Normandy and the break out and took very heavy casualties.

I love the Sherman. Im building a few at the same time. The M50 early super Sherman, finishing the M4a1 taigen up, still working my way through the M32B3 recovery tank, just finished the EZ8 save the decals, and need to get back to my early small hatch M4a1. Plus I have James Garners early M4a3 tank planned and coming. That M4a4 is an idea that I will do now that I have lengthened a Tamiya hull for the M50, I may use a Tamiya hull and do it the old fashioned way, or get two henglong hulls and cut them up.

Oh, I know. I'm planning on using 2 Heng Longs. I'm going to make a Royal Marines Sherman V(OP). The compass markings caught my eye.

And hey, Tank! is one of my favorite movies. And one I'd not thought about until now.

Now I know what to do with the FoV M4A3 hull I have.

In the modeling world those caught up in the need for all the Sherman tank variants are referred to as a 'Shermanholic'.

So it is recognized as a real affliction.

I tried to ignore it. I really did. Made it a whole day before I looked at the classifieds.

So after looking, is it on its way to your battle field?

The M4A3E8 I got from Rich. I swapped the airsoft turret for an infrared one. Removed solid grab handles and replaced. Added Schumo and Aber details. The antenna is from Axels. I still need to finish the driver and radio oprators hatches. I'm adding raised periscopes from Shapeways. I also have a set of T66 tracks to put on.

As a leading offender of Acute Sherman Disorder.... There is no problem... until you start modifying.... modifications of Shermans for no reason other than to use up parts box parts. I just put together two complete Tamiya sherman Easy eight kits and two extra lower HVSS hulls from my SPARE PARTS bin....

I am so far down the trail I am now working on Tank Destroyer mods just to keep it interesting.

I think I know what you mean. I'm sitting here right noe looking at the ETO transmission for Fury. I'm not ready to use it yet, because I'm waiting on some last suspension parts. I'm seriously considering throwing this one in the E8 right now, just because it's here.

I love these Shapeways periscopes. They come with the inside as well, in case you open the hatches.
