Stug III Ausf G with winterketten tracks?
I've been trying to find pictures of this, anyone have any of this combination? I like the appearance of those tracks but wouldn't want it to be inaccurate.
If not, I guess I could convert it to an F/8 but that would take more time.

I can't remember where I found the color pics, I'm pretty sure they come from a retrieved Stug found in a russian swamp, but....
The b&w ones are from the Eastern Front, unit unknown to me.

Hello,
Hope these will help:
- first one is from Baltic Provinces on 14 July 1944 -with later style wider Ostketten
- second one is taken in summer -winterkettens are still on because of shortage of "normalketten"
Yours,
Rabbit

Here's an F/8 Stug III. Notice the direction of the tracks.
Red Rabbit, those both look like Ostketten tracks to me.
Bill, neither.

RE: Stug III Ausf G with winterketten tracks?
Hi Rccommand
Initial Winterketten were 61/400/120 tracks with symmetrical extensions attached and sometimes evenly spaced ice cleats. I wasn't looking at your extensions, but at your actual tracks, and they are clearly reversed, notice that the Winterketten you sell are symmetrical, one left and one right track, unlike Ostketten which had casted one-piece wider links and were asymmetrical when installed.
The pictures below show two Winterketten, the first with additional ice-cleats mounted and the second one without.
Sometimes crews or field workshops mounted tracks reversed due to shortage of spares, and with Winterketten being prone to suffer heavy damage, there are many pictures showing PZIII or Stug with two left or two right Winterketten mounted.
@PantherF
I knew, just showing examples

You'r welcome Rccommand
I have found (buried depply down in my HD) a self-explanatory picture of an initial right-side left-mounted Winterkette clearly showing the additional ice cleat.

If you look closely you can see in the first pic that the right track is correct and the left track is not The black and white photos appear too be correct.
