Default * . _ - Offical Jammin X2 Thread - _ . *

Alright well. My LHS finally got the first few production models of the X2 in stock today, and many people told me not to, but I did. I picked up another X2, only differience this time is this is actually the Production one, the one which everyone will buy.

Ill be doing a detailed build process W/ Pics, and hints, and info.

Will be taking lots of pics of every step of the process and posting it up with, 1) What was done, 2) How long it took, 3) Tools used, 4) How hard was it ( Scale 1:5 ).

Yes, this may seem ' Stupid ' to some people, but Ive gotten A LOT of Pm's in the past few days in which people have asked me " Is it worth upgrading to the X2 from Whatever they use ", and my answer has always been the same, I dont know.

Well now, you make that decision yourself,

Expect to be easily over a 100 pictures in this thread.

And I hope you guys enjoy the pics as much as Ill enjoy building it.

Enough with the Intro. Time for some pics

Lets start with Box Art, if im correct, this is the first time its being posted on the Interweb.

Here you go

Extremely good looking box.

Now the Unboxing, first thing you'll pull out is the tyres, wheels, and body

Underneath that will be the stickers ( Which are all weeded ), and the Instruction manual, Which is for the first time, EXTREMELY clear and precise.

Underneath that, the Wing.

Then you open the white box, and will find

Well thats it for now, will definately keep updating as I complete every step of the Process.

Enjoy ;

qaiz...

Diffs;

If you were wondering what took me so long, I just CANNOT do diffs, I really have no idea how I did these.

1) Built Front, Center, and Rear Diff's.
2) Normal Time, 30 - 45 Mins, I took 2 Hours.
3) 2.5MM Hex Wrench, and Diff Oils ( Varies by user )
4) a), Preinstall the Gaskets in the spur, saves A LOT of time, b), Thread the plastic with the screw before you try and install the Spur's, if you dont do that, you'll just waste your time. Thats all I can think of at the moment, will edit if something else comes to mind

Will be starting work on the front end soon. Keep Posted

No idea if the X1 diffs are spiral cut, didnt forget the O Rings the second time [:-].

Im taking my time with this, there were quite a few mistakes on my first X2 build ( refer to the X2 thread ). Im following the manual to the ' T ' on this one.

Just about to start on the front end now, shouldnt take me that long, looks fairly easy.

About 75% done on the front end.

Going extremely well so far.

1) Working on Front end ( Shock Tower, A Arms, Etcc...

2) Around 1 Hour 30 Minutes

3) 1.5MM Hex Wrench, 2.0MM Hex Wrench, 2.5MM Hex Wrench, 3.0MM Hex Wrench, Spanner, Needle Nose Plires, Blue LockTite.

4) You'll find the body posts in bag 5, the Cap Screws in the screw bag located in Bag 10, and the Ball Joints for the Knuckles in the screw bag of Bag 5.

Well nearly done with the front end, came together easy for the most part, I like the addition of the CNC Lower B Block, instead of Plastic ( Plastic Ones are included too ).

Should be done in the next 10 mins..

Going extremely well so far.

Tho I think it may be time for a Red Bull or a Coffee, 12:44 AM

Thanks

Few more. Build has progressed a lot. All looking well.

Im nearing the end, did the rear up the same way I did the front, did the brakes up, will get some more pics later, I gotta sleep.

12 Hours, and shes around 90% done, and done RIGHT ( Which is the most important.! ).

I really enjoyed this build. Still got a lotta work to do ( Throw in the Engine, Receiver, Servos and Paint the Body ).

Will get more pics up by the end of the day. Im absoloutely dead.

I cant say this more, Keep Your Eyes On The Manual.! There are so many small lil' tid' bits that if you miss, your lower rear arms will be on backwards [&:]. Happened to me 3 times.!

Great pics qaiz, it's looking like they didn't change hardly anything from the x1, maybe a longer chasis, but keep up the good work and pics Thanks

There are a lot of differiences. The weight distribution is spot on, stronger plastics, stronger, lighter, longer chassis, to name a few. Z Brace has been replaced with what they call a " Linage Brace ", will get pics of that, improved fuel tank ( Which I really like ) and I could go one.

In a nutshell. Both are great cars.

Well its all done, just doing the servos and reciever, will get pics up soon..

First thing in the morning, you have no idea what a bad headache I have at the moment, I can barely stare at the screen. Dont want to upload something I dont want anyone to see [:-].

Never again, 4 engines at the same time at break in setting = LOTS OF SMOKE.!

Hey bud, just an observation about your build. If you flip the screws around on your "upper shock mounts", changing set-ups will be 10 times faster. Just an observation though. Have had mine flipped for a year now and never caused a strength issue. Plus I think it looks better IMO. This ain't a great pic, but I think you'll get the idea.
