Hey Dino. Question. Do you have parts for the pilots you sell? I find we are missing the two hands.
Still laying out somewhere on Paradise Field, I guess.[&o]

Then, while watching a movie I saw someone using a telescope, and the light bulb went off. It took one evening (a long one) to design it with things I had laying around the shop. I don't have a lathe and machining facilities, so I have to make things out of other things a lot.
I have often thought how cool it must be for some of these modelers who can just machine stuff. I saw one thread recently where a guy was making his own spinner for a 1/3 scale 109. Very cool.
Anyway, I'm satisfied with the way it looks and now we are moving on. Next is permanently installing the rudder tiller, then I'm going to work on the trim tabs and boost for the elevators, and modify the rudder to scale it out. This stuff will be easy compared to what I have just done. I have a little more designing to do for the boost, but not too complicated. It will be active. The trims tabs will not be.
I need some graphics for the cockpit, so after that, I'll be working on the aluminum skin startling in the rear. (just because, all butt seams, so it really doesn't matter where you start on this).

I'd like to ask, does anyone out there have, or have access to, actual pictures of the actual instrument panels in a Corsair. Preferably not a restored flying one that has had modern nav adds and radios installed. I have many pictures but none at the correct angles. I need head on / overhead shots, including a shot of the seat and cockpit bottom from overhead. We have one at a local museum, but it has many switches and instrument missing, and a manikin in the way of some things.

Brian (plant 1), when you look in on the thread, NO landing light in the leading edge of the left wing. We will need to sand the molded in one off. These lights did begin to be installed on the F4U-1A, our model, but not untill BuNo. 17930. BIG HOG is BuNo. 17640. I have no evidence at this time that it was ever retrofitted with it. The landing light should be on the bottom of the left wing tip.
The gun camera WAS in the right wing, so we will need to cut that one out and add the lens.

On a side note, you can't believe how hard it is to find a scale cockpit with even a military clock in in. A simple detail that is overlooked by practically every company making them.
I have a picture of the correct clock now, but my lack of computer skills is killing. I need to reduce it to the correct scale and print it out. Simple, right?[] Not for this old dog.

Gary. Like you I lack the computer skills to blow up and /or reduce to a given size, so I just go to Kinkos with my photo and do what ever I need on one of their copiers. By starting with a really large photo of an instrument face that I have cleaned up and evened out I reduce it as many times as needed to get it to the correct dia. that I need. I used to do it for free at work but now that I'm retired I use Kinkos and found it not really expensive.

Hello all,
I know this is off subject, but I am a new member and I can't figure out how to post a new thread. Can anyone tell me how?
Thanks,

hi Andrew, When you open the forum page for RC warbirds and warplanes at the top on the left hand side you should see a couple of buttons. the 1st button reads new posts, clik on that and you should be good to go.The buttons are not at the very top of the pagebut are just over the main body of the listings of the current threads.

A new post would be one where you are asking a question about a specific topic,or one where you are starting a build and are going to post your progress and ask questions along the way,and so on and so forth. A new poll is where you would be asking for a vote or opinion on a particular subject such as "what country had the best fighter aircraft? "; and then tally the results over a period of time.
