Where can i find P-51B Canopy?
I'm looking for a P-51B original Canopy that will fit my Bud Nosen P-51B model w/ 103" wingspan......
This model has been repainted and now newer canopy is a must as i really don't want to use make shift one that i currently have.
If anyone has one that he could part with or know any friend or club member who might have one, pls let me know.
Thanks in Advance.
Sam

You might ask rcwarbirdbuilder where he gets them to fit his 103" Mustang plan.

To answer couple of the questions on the P-51 B model canopy I have gotten, I take a standard P-51D canopy and since the front shape on both is very similiar I cut the back half off and build the frame around the front section with styrene plastic strips. I use the measurments on the P-51 D plans to determine where to make the cut.

Good that u mentioned this trick as i was thinking of asking the same question if "D model" canopy could somehow be modified to make a "B model" canopy.. Can you show me where n how you make ur cuts, this way i wont be guesstimating anything in risk of ruining the canopy.

Easy Tiger models has a giant scale P51B on their site. You can perhaps purchase a canopy through them. My buddy managed to get one from them for his Nosen Mustang that he wanted to build as a B model. It looked like a good fit.

RE: Where can i find P-51B Canopy?
Hi Mik,
The Easytiger P-51B Malcolm hood canopy is a perfect fit. If you go to easytigermodels.com and go to the giant scale P-51B mustang you will see the canopy. I attached a picture of it sitting on my fuselage. It looks awesome. We are in the process of building 6 of them. 5 will be D versions and mine will be a B version.
Let me know if you are having trouble getting one. I can possibly make one for you if need be. The one I got is very thin. almost paper thin, and is begging to be remolded.
This canopy is the only B version canopy that is out there to fit our bud nosens.
Good luck.

Go with TwinTurboZ answer, It will be a better fit and more scale.
See attached canopy drawings of "D" vs. "B" and check the angle of the windscreen. That should convince you that TwinTurboZ has a better idea. Unless your just building Fun Scale.
The Malcomb Hood is a nice field modification.

Very nice Adam, it looks beautiful on this model.
Malcomb Hood canopy is perfect to do RCAF's Mustang III replicas as they all were modified to MHod canopies.
My model is suppose to have original stock "B" model canopy being a Reno Racer # 97 "The Believer" but i do plan to repaint in finish it as RCAF's Mustang III in future so ur offer to make thicker Mhood canopy is
what i will go for with my model. Check ur Pm inbox.

RE: Where can i find P-51B Canopy?
Here is the make shift canopy i came up for my model for time being, what do u guys think. It's not the greatest but better then nothing!. I taped clear plastic parts with automotive red 1/4" thick pin stripe. I used 3 layers to fully attach and secure parts to the fuselage, i also added foam frame template at the forward canopy joints to support the clear parts together.
