Default Junkers 88 wanted, anyone any idea?

I am looking for a JU88 kit, or plan, about 120inch span, i had a line on one from evil merlin (what happened to him??) but it fizzled out, the web site in germany is no longer active, is there anywhere in the world anyone knows of that do one?

Well, i have done a fair bit of digging, and the one i wanted in europe, was one done by CDDESIGNS, he did lots of WW1 stuff, sadly, he no longer trades, others have got stuff off him, but its been a nightmare, i WOULD be interested in buying the glassware, nacelles and plan off him, but not if its going to be hassle, and i do not have an email address for him, anyone else have a clue?

Abufletcher, built his prototype for the Albatros C1. You might PM him and see if he still has contact info for CD scale designs. I just got a set of JU 88 plans off of Ebay. It is 96' span. That may be too small for what you want though.

I would avoid PCK. Sorry, but they do not produce a good product. Got the Andersen TA 152 a couple of years ago and it was terrible. There are lots of kit cutters out there now. I would ask lots of questions of them before the order, unless of course you already have a favorite.

I was not referring to them as a source of the kit.
But as far as I know they are now the owners of the Don Smith plans range.
As Alan is in UK Bellair will be better and Leon is doing nice kits.

Ah, got yah. You are correct. I did not notice Alanc's location.

I wonder if anyone will chime in on the Don Smith design? How it builds and fly's?

Hey Kwik, have you heard of Satyricon? They have the number one album in Norway right now...lol I just luv the music that comes from your country.

That Don Smith 88 might just be the ticket. Looks like all of the accesories are available. I just wonder what the retracts are gonna set me back!

Tha DS one is too small, the german one would have been superb, what a shame he stopped doing his kits, getting anything from him seems like hassle, i dont want to start enlarging plans, and molding lots of glass, its back on the back burner, just wanted something differant to all the stuff thats doing the rounds, theres a complete one for sale over here, ay a good size, but its sports scale at best,

I am working on a 1/6 scale Ju88a1. 120"ws. But I need to finish my J2m3 Raiden first. So it will be a while. Maybe a year or more. John

Vertical, Satyricon, yes, I've heard of it, hehe !

John, isnt it your building-thread I linked to above? If you don't start up on that Ju-88 again soon, I'll be using a walking-chair before you are finished!

I read through the whole build ( again !) and there are two things confusing me;

1) Isnt it a standard Don Smith Ju-88 ? ( Which is not scale 1/6....it is scale 1/6.78 if I'm not mistaken )
At least these guys says it is 1/6.78 ;

http://www.kitcutters.com/Smi/SmiJU88.htm

2) Did you build one wing with balsa and ANOTHER with foam ???

For Ju 88 fans, you can download pictures of the Norwegian Ju-88 from here;

I hope you are a long way from a walking chair Kwik. Yes That is my build and yes Don Smith is a 1/6.78 scale. Dons is also a Ju88a4. I did get foam wings cut for it. I am doing a plug for a Ju88a1 in 1/6 scale to do as a kit. The a1 version with shorter wings come out at 120". I lost a year of my life with a terrible eye injury. So I am finishing up my J2m3 Raiden kits before I move back it 88.

Thats what I seemed to remember, but couldn't find that info in the thread anymore. Perhaps I was reading too fast.

Did you hear that, guys ???

"I am doing a plug for a Ju88a1 in 1/6 scale to do as a kit."

Sorry to hear about the eye injury. No place worse to get injured than the eye.

John, why don't you start a thread for the 1/6 Ju 88 A1 kit spesifically?

It would be a joy to follow for us Ju 88 fans, and fun for you too, I hope?

The challenge would be to get engines that can be tucked away in those narrow cowlings.

Kwik, I do have front and middle cowls plug done. I might detail a little more. At 1/6 front cowl dia. is 8 1/2 inches. I could start a thread but it would be a long slow one. John
