It's a real shame they're gone. Their canopy made a real improvement in the overall scale appearance of the Top Flite GS Mustang.
Before the AeroTech canopy came on the market I was interested in making a better canopy. My vacuum former is slightly too small so I took a stock TF canopy to a commercial vacuum forming company here locally. I told them I'd supply a new canopy form with approximately the size and shape and asked them to estimate the cost of pulling them. $40 each in groups of 20. And that was several years ago.
That was the end any interest at the time.

Please feel free to add me to the Brotherhood. I am redoing an old .40size P-51 and would love to have it included once it is complete. Not sure which scheme I am going with but it will be fully sheeted, seams sealed, covered and painted.

Count me in as well. I am a huge mustang fan. I just bought my first RC mustang, a Modeltech ARF with the "Short Fuse Sallee" covering scheme. It will have retracts and other small details such as a pilot to improve the scale look. The directions call for a .46 but a club member who had one in the past recommended a .60 so I will be using either a TT .61 or an Evolution.61 depending on what I can find used or afford when I'm at that stage of the build.

Scale P-51 Exhaust for G62
Gentlemen,
There was a guy in Florida that used to make scale exhausts for G62-P51 applications. He used to advertise in the AMA magazine.
Does anyone know of him?
I am not talking about Keleo, he doesn't make a scale exhaust for P51/G62.
Any Help would be appreicated.

Kinda got some sick news, a friend of mine at my field that works at our local airport works with a guy who builds models, like we are talking big warbirds and stuff for fun, and is one of the best scale detailers in around my area. He has never flown any of his models and he loves what he does so much that he either gives his planes away, or sells them for literally nothing and makes no money at all on them. He has a TFGS corsair, P-47, and GS Mustang. Now I have the 47 but my dream plane is the giant mustang in the Tuskegee airmen scheme. But this guy might give me both of his planes, the giant corsair, and P-51 for close to nothing because I'm youth and he likes to support the youngsters. Now I have flown both planes numerous amounts of times but have never owned either of them. That be kinda sick if I got them, especially for free!!!

Oh hand by the way, here is my Hangar PTS mustang. I got her in 2011, and she has crashed 4 times. All 4 times there was nothing left of her, but I managed to repair her to looking like new!! She's 75% epoxy. But she still goes like hell, she's had quite the life, hope you like the video, she goes like hell!

I'm SERIOUSLY thinking about doing a big P-51D, as a sort of a tribute to my Dad who was a Crew Chief for a couple mustangs during WWII.
full blown scale ... it would obviously be a labor of love, and would take considerable time to build...
(on the other hand, I AM a builder... and sort of itching for a project... )
about the only part I'm undecided on... KIT (and if so, which? Nosen? TopFlite?? Ziroli?)
or Scratch built... OOOO decisions, decisions...

Only that I've got a DLE 55 sitting on the shelf (it's after easter, so it's OK for me to admit this SIN )

True true he could do that, but he already has a DLE 55 on the shelf, and that would be a better fit in a topflite rather than ziroli. I agree a da 85 would be a great engine in the ziroli mustang. Topflite is a better manufacturer in my opinion, awesome models

Ziroli plans and full wood kit from Nationalbalsa. That would be a good builders kit. I haven't seen the Top Flite kit personally, but have seen the plans for Ziroli, I have the B-25 and P-61 plans, and man are they BIG! I also have the full kit for the P-61 and the wood is very nice.

Here's a couple pictures of my TF 1/5 scale P-51 ARF. I converted the ARF to a "C" model. Colors are that of Lt. Zackmann's "Dody". Pilot is Best Pilot's "Bob Sweeney". DLE 55RE. Wing has not be detailed out yet but fuse is done. Have 10 flights on her as of this date.

Nice P-51! Some guy might give me his Giant P-51 for free! Then another guy might give me his Giant P-40 free too! Both topflite models. But boy my luck is changing!!!
