Default Corsair Brotherhood.

All corsairs welcome! Share building techniques, ask questions, post pictures. Pictured here is a Giant Royal Corsair. I used a Byron Three Blade system, on a 4.2 Sachs. Picture is from 1988. This bird is still flying, under new ownership and power, DLE 85. I will do my best to keep the roster up to date. PM me with request to help keep everyone in order. Thanks! Corsairs can be a difficult build. Let's get some posts going.

"F4U Brotherhood" All Corsairs welcome!

Great planes fun scale .40. Great starter Corsiar. This is powered .45 OS. No retracts, no flaps. Simple to build and fly. Of course I could not refuse to doll it up a bit! Trim sheet checkerboard on nose. Monokote cuts outs ironed on on rudder. Nose art I cut from a magazine. Clear sheet over the nose art to fuel proof and keep it in place. Clear sheet 3/16 bigger on all sides. Missile's fashioned from dowels. Gear doors fashioned from 1/64 ply. Can not tell you how many flights. 100+. I rarely remove the wing. Transports as a whole.

My Byron is a little tired, but will take on a retrofit soon. Sporting an unusual scheme from Kansas National Guard

Another waiting in the wings. So to speak! This is a very rare, Royal Giant. Early 80's kit. Beautiful kit! As are all the Royal products. All built up, and sheet. Check out my Avitar. It's my first Royal Giant. All paint. Flew well. Way back then the big power engines were limited in choice. That particular I flew with the Byron Three Blade drive system. Limited performance, very scale takeoff profile and maneuvers.

Hello gentlemen. For your consideration.

My brother and I build CARF Corsairs and have developed many customizing kits for these wonderful aircraft. Our entry at the Toledo show in 2012 won 1st place, and went on to win 2nd place at Top Gun that year. Many of you have seen her already I'm sure, but here are some of my favorite pictures.

Moki 250 radial, electric gear, working cowl flaps, working scale light system, gun system with both lights and sound, radio controlled canopy, working boost tabs, tail hook, and more.

I guess you should sign me up.

My Ziroli Corsair is now over 20 years old!! The flight log is over 2" thick. I gave it to my son a few years ago and he managed to finally bang it up pretty good. Gotta use the rudder on these things especially with big motors.

Long story short, I'm in the middle of building a new wing. I have the center section done with the gear installed and the gear doors functioning. I just started the outer panels yesterday. Carbon fiber over lay on the spars is done and I have everything layed out already to start tomorrow.

My son and my wife gave me an Ipad air for my birthday so hopefully I can take some pictures and post them easier than with my camera.

This wireless keyboard is really cool. My fingers are so rough and caloused that it doesn't work very well for me to use the touch screen. I have the neatest stylus too. I'll try and get the spelling worked out too. This technology is just a bit overpowering at this age. haha

I'm also working on reworking the plans for an F4U-5. It's a lot of work doing this on SolidWorks but I think the results will be nice. There are a lot of changes to make and a lot of parts are affected. I wish I could do a radial motor too but the flat twin will have to do for now.
