Default Retract issue/Resolved

Recently I had been experiencing partial retraction, failure to deploy, etc with the retracts in my GS P-47. I couldn't find any leaks but the retracts would only cycle 1 or 2 times, max. After trying several ideas to correct the problem I checked the air pump. It was showing high pressure on the gauge almost immediately after I turned on the pump yet it barely had enough air for a complete cycle. The next step involved inspecting the tank itself. After removing all the obstructions, I pulled the tank and the problem became apparent. The tank had been tacked into place with a little silicon per the assembly instructions but that proved inadequate. Over several years it had spun until the airline twisted enough to kink. I replaced the airline and re-secured the airtank with a LOT of silicone.

I had never had this happen before but wanted to share the experience so others might avoid the problem.

We had the EXACT same thing happen to my CARF Spitfire.

Wow! I thought I was the only one who had this weird crap happen!

Going forward, I'm going to find a way to clamp these air canisters down. Probably something to hook a couple of rubber bands across them diagonally to prevent rotation.
