RE: TF GS P47 Build - yeah another bloody one!!
Hi Steff and Pete, i must say i love the GT 80.
The 3W works out about $1100 by the time you have bought the overpriced silencer.
The trouble with 3W is everything is overpriced.
I stuffed it in big time when a regulator burnt out on my TA152 and a new crank and rod was needed with Erny's input turned out to be $350.The ignition was quoted at over $200 stupid prices so i bought a Rexell for $60 instead.
Also i have found out that the DLE 55 silencer fits as well. That,s what i have fitted to my Sea Fury
What does the GT80 sell form and who is the seller?
It would be good to have a link to that Video Steff.
Where did you get the headers from on your exhaust and what is the black stuff that is joining the flex pipe and where did you get the flex pipe from.?
Dave.

Steff, I like the setup in your Zero and how you oriented the engine
I have the MVVS80cc in mine. Works well with a 3-blade 26x10. These are very nice flying planes!
Planning to swap it out for the 80cc version with a built in starter!

Hey Dave , the flexi pipe was from Christian Traders, the black stuff is a product called rescue tape it is a silicone based tape that is fuel & acid proof & rated to 260 Deg C I have about 1.5 " of header inside the flexi pipe so more of a back up ..first used gasket sealer on the pipe & then the rescue tape as a back up & to help with flex vibration etc.
I made the headers up myself using some aircon fittings from work, at first thought they may restrict the flow a little but are working perfectly.
The vid is a little over the top as I was pretty excited to get this one up, but if you forward to the half way piont you'll catch the second flight. .
Cheers Steff.

did some work on the dummy antenna today. Needs a little fine tuning (no pun) and glassing. then have to devise a way to mount it so it is removable.

thanks mate. Tis but a twig!
P51D is airwirthy again after fitting a new fuel tank after the last one split. sheesh and that tank was only like 25 years old. c'mon Dubro get your act together hehe
Still working on the gear door for the seafury. Sand back the filler tomorrow, hit it with some paint then refit it.

You guys use your feet for everything down there....even football isnt football there lol...
"hey, you all just back off! Pete's gett'n something done here!"
Pete,
To make mine removable, I used an 1/8th inch dowel, a carbon fiber tube with 1/8 inner diameter, and a servo screw.
- cut the wood dowel. (this piece goes into your antenna)
- cut the carbon fiber tube a scant(technical term)longer.
- insert carbon fiber tube in fuse where antenna is needed.
- I forgot to say, that you should drill a pilot hole in the end of the dowel for the screw.
- use screw to hold. This hopefully is easy to access. If not you can run the carbon fiber tube through the fuse allowing you to put the securing screw on from the outside.

Casey,
mate you have been hanging around aussies too long. Your sounding like a smart ar se hehehe
My thoghts on mounting it are thus:
- antenna is roughly retangualr at the base
- glue a hard balsa block about 1/2" thick under where the antenna mounts on inside surface of fuz
- then take a piece of thickish (another technical term) brass strip, cut a suitable slot in base of antenna then glue the strip into said slot
- make a corresponding slot in fuz where antenna mounts down into the balsa block but make it a tight fit
- antanna is secure and easily removed
That is my basic desgn, I may tweak that as I go on.
Cheers
Peter

Hey peter had a dead stick on the Gt80 yesterday very scary...Not alot of crap in the filter but because it's a cartridge type enough I guess to snuff out two cylinders.
posted a short vid of it on utube ..the sound you dont want to hear from your 80cc.
Chears Steff.
