RE: TF GS P47 Build - yeah another bloody one!!
not quite mate, had the tracky daks on and batterered old jumper. My garage gets quite chilly.
Have been working away on the 47 last few days, recalualted all the rake angles etc for the landing gear. Actually did some drawings and did some numbers. I am very close with what I have done actually. Just needs beefing up so spent a whole day working it out and have now largely reinforced one side. It will need a bit of tweaking and grinding with the dremel but should be solid enough.
I'll post a pic to keep Bob happy
Have got a nibble about you F16, is that sill avalialbe. He wants to know if it is a going concern or what else he needs to get for it. I texted you about it.

It has got so cold up here in Gladstone that I have had to put thongs on to keep my feet warm. If it gets any colder I might have to close the shed window!
Cheers

retired a couple of old models today. Old TT Pegasus trainer that my ex wife used to fly was full of rot, engine is siezed, bit like her actually. In the bin it went. Had a really old Cessna cardinal, had not flown it since about 96. Full of rot too so in the bin with it as well. Wings on both are perfect so might give them away to somebody who needs such things.
Finally retired my old pica Spitfire, poor old thing. Still flew really well but carb had siezed. Could put a new engine in it but I prefer my bigger birds now. The JR 9ch DX-2 Rx is going in my new project that arrives next week. shhhhhh
Pulled all these really old hitec servos, would never use them in a plane again. In the junk drawer.

once gear mounts are sorted I am close to painting.
Tasks to do:
- finish reinforcing gear mounts
- mounting point for antenna
- weld an extension to the hex driver that is used to attach the cowl mount screws. Probably sacrifice another hex driver to use as the extension
Go paint!

Not a thing wrong with electrics (SPArKIES) little ones or big, it's just to bad the technology is so far behind my age and to coastly to change for this geeezer,
and just so youall know our club welcomes all sizes of birds., and power plants even the bugs that fly's becouse the earth repel's them heliossssss.
The main thing is gust to have fun.

have not gotten into he lectric side yet. To be honest LiPo packs are far too dangerous for my liking.
Toying with getting a 1.4m electric Spit from one of my fried rice suppliers. They look quite good. Very similar to Parkzone but bigger.
Spent 4 hours last night in the workshop fiddling with the Tiggy. Just have to do the wing bracing, get some high temp exhaust goop so muffler can be fitted, set throws and expo, set up kill switch and it is ready to go. Might fly it Sunday actually
Then have to fiz lading gear rails on port side of the Seafury wing. Bugger of a job. [:@]
Then back to the 47!

Hey guys
I was thinking of putting one of these together and had a few questions. I'll also attempt to read thru this whole thread....LOL
What are the best servos I can get for this that are not crazy in price? I'm assuming digitals?
I'd like to put a DLE 55 in her but am worried about getting the drilling/bolt pattern right on the firewall. Any advice/templates..links to threads that might help.
Does this bird tend to be tail heavy? If so, would it make sense to put a bigger motor? If I need to add weight might as well be with Horse Power
Any advice would be great

"I'll also attempt to read thru this whole thread....LOL "
Let me know how that works for you
Servos, digital over 5kg torque should suffice.
Templates? Nope you will need to work it out mate.
