GaryM,
I just saw your Corsair on the Top Gun thread. Nice Job! Anyone who has'nt reviewed Garys gallery should. It really inspires me to do more detail next time around. Thanks for all those pictures in the gallery.

Say David, could you post a few pics of your carb inlet , exhaust exit and oil cooler inlets ? It looks like you did a really accurate modification on your F2G. thanks , joe

Hey Guys, Just got back from Joe Nall, What a blast.
I met dgrantham and his F-2 Super Corsair. Very nice looking and flying plane. Never got a ghance to get them both up together though.
Hey David, It was nice meeting you and sorry we didn't get a pic of both planes together. You got a winner there.
RT3232, I had to add a few more ounces to the nose of mine. So you were right about the balance. The extra nose weight helped.
Later Guys gotta get everything put away.
BTW here are a few shots from our pitt area.

Hi guys,
Painting is progressing great. Should be finished by midnight today. How long should I let the paint cure before applying decals?Alos, how long before I could run up the engine? It is latex.

I am not an expret on latex, but from every thing I have read and my experiance with the latex primer, with good drying conditions for the decals a week and 2 weeks for the engine run, at this point you have to nice a bird to rush it.
Great job
Hope this helps

Pappy,
Sorry for the delay, I just got back in town from Joe Nall. What a show! 814 registered pilots! If you hav'nt been you owe it to yourself to go next time.
The modifications for the F2G were scaled as close as i could using 3-views and pictures from Detail and Scale , and the Squadron Publication of the Corsair. Though not exact scale, they are pretty close.
It was nice to meet Thunderbolt47. Kelly is a great guy with a real sharp corsair. Wish I had used the ZDZ 80 on mine, that guy is fast.

Chris,
I used Behr paint from Home Depot. I applied the paint masks for the markings two days after painting, and no problem at all. My local vinyl graphics shop spent about 1 hour with me getting everything right for all the markings and then cut them all on one sheet. $45 total. He is an airplane guy and was a real help. I'm thinking paint will look real good over all that detail you have.

Joe,
Note that by narrowing F-1, and Lowering F-2 to make them the same size, I was able to make the front part of the fuselage look like it was part of the cowl. The F2G cowl extended to the leading edge. See the previous pics.

Chris,
A couple of pictures of the paint masks. If you go this route make sure that they are cut on paint mask material. It is not as agressive an adhesive and really makes clean lines and removes well.
I have never painted markings before, but this is easy.
