... I recomend the T-28 for many guys looking for a first war bird. Cox brought back the Pica T-28 which is an 78" version in an ARF. Try and find one of these and fly it first....

Would anyone happen to know where i could buy one of those arf kit?

Thanks

Update .... it seem that Cox as stopped producing the kit. It is sad.
I asked them and here is there answer: The Pica line is currently not being produced, possible in mid 2009 as we are looking for a vendor.

ALSO .... i have been able to get in contact with John at IronBay...they are busy on Army projects... but still do buisness in r/c ''toys''. They have upped the price and the wait time is of 7 weeks appx.

Hi Craig:
I think they are about 1200 bucks, I think Robart has stopped making the gear for it though, I think Sierra still has them

Hi there i couldn't help, but looking at the mail you received on the t28 because its one of my favorite airplanes I've built one that was a pica kit and ice flown it for 10 years it flies so smooth !! I've built about 20 different airplanes in the past 18 years and had to learn the hard way so all or for the most part I've learned the hard way..I've built giant scale from plans and kits also arf;s but the fibreglass fuse planes intimidate me because painting is another world to me and to match to wood covered wings with monokote makes me nervous ..as far as the Byron T28 I've only seen them at Toledo as demo;s but there beautiful!! id like one but after reading your feed back and checking out the price they dont fit the average modelers wages... ill probably wait for some one to come out with plans .myself.and stick build ..your t28 probably is complicated and although your smart those projects tempt the patients of some of the best of the average builders but not the PRO;S the best of luck and if you decide to start dont quit!!!Kenny.....IN USA...

I am starting a build myself..on a Dave Platt T28 I looked at the Iron Bay many times but they are fiberglass and foam wings also they are very pricy..Ive been building 15 yrs and still dont concider myself a pro..The total price of the iron bay is very expensive and for what the kit offers its too pricey for me..Platt can be cut by percision kutters so thats what i did.If your not experrianced with fiberglass and foam wings i would steer away..You will have a lot of money in an airplane that will be unfixable if you have a misshap. The platt project will allow you to make new parts if it should get dinged up a little..Kenny...

I still fly my Pica T28 and love it i built it 12yrs ago and replaced the cowl and covered it twice. There is a man named Alex Guzman i think in florida who sold me a giant T28 kit and i built it but the wing cracked in flight may have been my fault im not sure but i got alot of complements on it.As for now i have collected all the parts for the Platt 82" T28.
