Hey guys, sorry I've been away. Busy fall.

Below is a link to the post (520) about the turret. There is a PDF file that I attached there, with some dimensions that might be usable as a guide:

Larry, the CAF Ariizona Wing based out at Falcon Field in Mesa just acquired an Avenger project. Might be a good source close to home if you're looking to take some pictures. The Pima Air & Space Museum in Tucson also has a TBM.

Hey Chad,
Thanks for the info, I had seen it on the news and that's the main reason I'm going. Work progresses slowly on the T28 since the temps in the garage hover in the low to mid 90's

Hey Carl - go to Pg 21, Post 520 and look at the very bottom of that post for the 3 views provided by Noah, that I used to form my gun turret. Chic

Accomplishment, Accomplishment at hand:

- Pull/Pull rudder and tail wheel systems hooked up and working. Will finalize that particular set up tomorrow and begin to hook up the elevator. Need to run to the local hobby store for additional parts. Yeaaaaaa. Chic.

Well internal controls are connected, very little play with the rudder pull/pull, elevator movement is solid. Very pleased. The large open hole is now closed and filed, on to the final sanding and finally glassing the fuse. Bottom first. Will install side window blisters after fuse is glassed/primered. Good progress I believe, at least for me and my slow self. Chic

Hey Navy - I use two types of filler depending on the job. The Bondo Spot Putty for lesser filler needs and the Easy Sand for larger more contouring needs. Chic

WOW - Am I seeing where you have a rotating wing mechanism, well strut your stuff my friend. Can't wait to see how it works. Is it set up so that the wings will turn and rotate back? Send some photos of fuse and wing mechanism. NICE. Chic

It was made to be manually folded and bolted in the wings spread position but i am going to try either an electric or hydraulic setup to fold it. The air system wasnt strong enough. I also have to figure out a wing lock setup as well.

Stew,
I'm pretty sure that Charlie Kellogg did a skyraider with folding wings and he figured out a way that was strong enough. Can't remember if he did a thread for the skyraider but maybe one of our Avenger buddies remember. I also think there is a youtube video of it

I think he used a hydraulic setup for his skyraider. Id have to figure out which method would be easier to get the parts for.

Hi Guys,

It has been a long time coming, but I finally have made a bit of progress on my TBM.

Has anyone here made a more "scale" elevator linkage? By that I mean hiding the linkage to the elevator in the fuselage.

Thanks,
Jerry

Jerry,
I hide both the rudder and elevator controls. View the following Posts, both the rudder and elevator are operational and working very well: Post 2495 (Rudder) Post 2458-59 (Elevator)
