I adore Your work!

Say please: what take-off weight of Your Jug?

Thank you pilot43. She weighs 48lbs dry, and about 49.5lbs wet at take-off.

Ours has a 3W 80Xi for power. You should be fine with the 85.

Ok Meister drivers, I printed out the pre-registration form and am sending it in. I'm stopping in Charlotte for an evening at my brothers house, and then he will join me in the car, or I will join him in his plane if we can get Zombie in it, for the rest of the trip. Either way, see you guys there.

Let me just say that September can't go by fast enough for me now, but if it is anything like the rest of this summer has been, this will not be a problem. I can't believe kids are back in school. On a good notr for me though, this is the first year in 30 that we don't have anyone in public school.

Monster Planes, Jeff. But we understand, there weren't any pictures to convey the message...... which of course means you probably won't get this one either.

[:@] Ouch, that's going to leave a mark! Jeff You gotta come on down with your Meister 47. Hope she's doing well. It looked so good at Georgia. It would be nice to get them all in the air at the same time and do a big Meister Photo. Dino could get an article out of it and enjoy a little more advertising compliments of all his thankful customers!!!

C'mon Jeff. Leave the darn boats in the water and come play with us!!! The Meister Mash at Monster Planes. Lakeland airport at the new RC events field that Frank built. It's fantastic and waiting for us. October 7 - 9th. See ya there!

Scott....I will be at Monsters as well. Still hurting about Cherry Mary at Georgia, but at least Dean's plane wasn't damaged. We still have the silver one"Junkyard Dog" and are pre registered. Will see you there and hope we can all fly together. Dean would get a kick out of it. Doug Smith

Hey Doug, that's great news. Look forward to seeing you again. Georgia seems ages ago! See if you can rally up a few more Meister guys. Dean could use a Meister Rally and Monster Planes loves big Warbirds!!!

Good to hear from you and see you soon!

First of all!!!!Scot, they gay one not the cool one who's last name is Prossen. I may need visual aids to help with my recognition skills but atleast I dont have to have a coloring book with directions of how to get around the bedroom. I'm just saying thats what your wife told me!!

Cool Scott...the one with a real P-47..(not that crappy little top flite crap up in Maryland) I'll see Dino this weekend and get my props. I asked him to send one to you but he suggested that i wait till after the weekend in case I need yours as a spare. P.M. me your adress.. We'll miss seeing you this weekend in Atlanta.. P.J. is doing the flying and I'm cooking coonass food.

I'm tossing around Monster but i may fly and hang out...the weekend before is a big three day race. I would get home spend two nights and have turn right back around and head out for Lakeland. We'll see

In this age of ARFs, many have never experienced the durability of the hand built models from quality materials and design. Our big Miesters are just that type. I love to see so many of these planes that have been flying for many years. Barring unfortunate accidents like befell "Cherry Mary", hopefully there will be many opportunities to unite these wonderful giants.

Here is something to consider for those using the aluminum foil finishes. When we were building Zombie, we debated what to do with the aluminum finish after it was detailed. We elected to leave it natural, vs. clear coating it with something. I had hoped it would "age" to some extent just being exposed to the air. It would seem it is doing just that. Brian pointed out how under the tail, where it gets little sun, it is still quite shiny. She appears to be looking more weathered all the time. Don't know if the picture picks this up as well as in person. Here it is.

Here is that broken engine mount. Brian had a new one made from steel. It was milled down to the same thickness so nothing changed. Also pictured is the hub where the cowl rode against it, and the inserts for the cowl mounting bolts that we installed.

By milling down the two top steel stand-offs to compensate for the weight of the new mount, we actually lost 1.5 oz going from the aluminum to steel mount.

Well, we (I should say Brian, Zombies crew chief) got her all back together. I have been wondering about our prop, and decided to switch from the Vess 27A to a Bolly 26 X 10. We took her out today to try everything out. Here is a walk around with the new prop. Flight and landing video is being posted. Brian has improved his video skills, as you will see.

Here is the first flight with our new prop. Conditions were, low humidity, about 78 deg, and a variable cross wind about 10mph gusting to at least 20.

Here is the first landing with our new prop. I'm able to slow the engine down more now. The rpm range is about 1000rpm wider. 500 higher, and 500rpm lower. The engine seems to like the centrifugal energy of the heavier prop.

Yeah Gary, it does look like you were able to whoa it down better with the new prop! Thing looks like she behaves well all the way up and down!

I definitely have better breaking from the prop now. She is very well behaved in all aspects of flight. I am just about ready to break out some "Mac Hodges" with her. For at least one flight during the day. I like to do scale maneuvers because they look so much like the training video I have watched.
