Three cheers and high regards for your home country there, Vasek!!

In the news today I see that the Czech Republic has commited $250,000 to the relief effort for the town of West, Texas in the wake of the massive fertilizer plant explosion/accident. There is an unusually high density of Czech immigrants in that region of Texas and many people who have relatives in the C.R.

Great day to be proud of your country and it's citizens who organized a relief fund which was given matching funds from the C.R. Gov't to reach the $250K goal. Thank you!

I just bought this plane off of a friend of mine but he is missing the manual. Does anyone happen to have a scanned copy they can send me?

Thanks

The manual that came with mine was purely useless( 1 page, front and back ) and stated that the CG should be 6.75" or 165mm from the leading edge[X(]
Obviously that is WAY too far aft.

Glad to have you on board...post pics!!!

Hello Frits

Well it seems to be the new normal on this website that nothing works correctly. I have emailed you a personal message two times and as far as I can tell you have not received it or has it even recorded the fact that I emailed you LOL.

So this is my last resort to post on the thread. Anyway what I was trying to say is if at all possible do you have the Adobe PDF files for the zero nomenclatures? I see that you have one on the thread but the other sheets including the locator sheet are just pictures. My friend is trying to print decal sheets out, however the photos are not as clear as the Adobe PDF files. If at all possible can you post them or mail them to me? It would be greatly appreciated because I'm trying to finish my 04 hour warbird event. And I need those on there before I can finish my weathering thank you very much.

Unfortunately I was not able to accompany the family to the UK ths year due to an extreme job load with work. This self employed thing is getting to be a pain.

For some reason I have not had notifications as to new posts on the threads that I'm supposed to be subscribed to or PM's when I peek in to see what's new on the forums. Additionally I'm a bit behind on the learning curve and have had a diffcult time figuring out how to effectively navigate the new system. Due mostly to the limited time I have to spend on it these past several months rather than any real problems with the format.

I just had 77C.H's PM this evening and I have not had yours Vasek. Replied to 77CH. Check mail or hit me at: [email protected]

I finally went to our club field with an airplane today!! It's been nearly a year since I have been able to do more than just stop in as I'm passing through the area. Muscle memory is a wonderful thing...Didn't bust anything up and got my crosswind landings tuned up in just a few passes. Now if I can just get one of the retracts repaired or replaced I can finish balancing the Zero and hopefully get it maidened before our Warbird fly-in in November.

Well so much for doing an attachment as a raw file here. These new Icons/smileys really suck...the old ones were much better.

77ChickenHawk,
I think the PDF files you refered to were some samples from one of the vendors that was really just a bunch of "made-up" (as in not real) gibberish that looked somewhat like the actual.

At some point soon I'll put up a placement guide for my set. The red page is almost self-explanatory but the black page is a bit of a wonder. There's two sets of three strut tags, two tail gear tags, arrows for the pull down step, arrows for the tail lifting/jacking point, a CG datum and all of the little tags for top and bottoms of the ailerons, elev's, flaps and rudder.

Frets,

Did you ever get a placement sheet made up by chance? I'm finishing up a CMP 50cc bash into A6M2 type 21 and have the sheets from Vicky. Some I know, others...not so much! LOL

How's everyone doing? Any news on the builds or flights?

Casey

Spoke with Charlie from NitroPlanes, he said he found one of these in the box, if anyone needs parts, or another plane for that matter

No problem, just in time actually. Had to put the build on hold for moment as my mom passed away.

Heres where it sits now

I'm truely sorry to hear of your mom's passing...When my dad went I knew that the keeper of so many of my childhood memories was gone.

The Zero looks great!

Have just browsed this thread. Amazing work some of you guys have done :-)
I just ( a coupple of years ago ) found a well used CMpro A6m5 120 size pointin' my way..

It was actually ready for the BIN, but I repaird the fuse where broken and replaced / fixed the rudder and LG.

From you guys i found inspiration to make flaps and now moulding gear doors.
Maiden is done, and it's a bit tail heavy. working on that now.

At the moment its looking a bit like TAIC 8, without the decals. ( I tend to think "stolen" warbirds are kinda cool) But its a great "primer" look for doing a japanese color shcema later.

I'm thinking of doing sliding canopy and interior when flying days get shorter as autumn soon arrives...

If any interrest I can keep you posted on the progression ..
Thanks anyway :-)

hehe .. I didn't buy it.. got it for free as it was on its way to the bin.. it had some small structural damages, and the allways present issues with mechanical pianowire landing gear. so the previous owner didn't want to spend money on proper gear and legs.
I however found new electrical ones at HK for $39 and new wheels at $15 at a local shop.

I got these retracts
https://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/...unt_2pcs_.html
And these oleos
https://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/...168mm_2pc.html
It says in the description that they are Zero-style but that's not true.. cuz the stabiliser linkage on supposed to be on the side of a zero type strut is on the backside, (as on P51) and not on the side as an actual Zero style should be...

Nevertheless great value for money..recently I got 83mm wheels from robart, ( they might be a little soft but I havent put them on yet, still it'll will look al ot better than the soft standard foamwheels included in the kit)

Appologize for giving the wrong price on it.. but still its a fair good price for the LG. (33+23 + wheels)

For powerplant I chose the ASP 180FS, as I'm not too fond of chainsaws in the air. For propeller I on maiden used the Graupner 3blade 16x8..
Works as a charm, and took off at 1/2 throttle (a little tail heavy as mentioned, but not uncontrollable).

Casey that Zero looks great, like that pilot a lot also! Fretz, I thought I sent you one of my more scale canopies? I know it's been a few years, I actually did work on this plane a little more before I stuck it on the shelf. Some very good inspiration here, keep it up men, I want to finish my plane now!
