count the # of teeth on your stock pinion gear(on the motor shaft)
if its 21 tooth, then you can get the 23 tooth pinion from redcat. im not certain which one came stock. but i would think that the buggy came stock with the 23 and the truggy with the 21. since i believe the buggy has smaller rear tires.
anyway, going up 2 teeth on the pinion will increase to speed.

You are correct there is a big difference in tire size. Also the pinions are different between brushless and brushed they are sized different so order the correct one!

since the XB has smaller tires, using the pinion gear that comes on it for the XTG will increase top speed.

RE: Twister xtg Pro problems.
so no one has a fix for the no reverse problem besides messing with throttle trim? ive spent hours messing with the throttle trim and didnt even get a little glitch of reverse.... could it be esc is bad or something? also what spur gears fit on this xtg pro? will another brand spur gear fit like traxxas or associated? or do i have to order one from redcat only?

i have no idea... there is no paper work that says how to program or what not about esc settings besides how to calibrate it.

Is there a manufacturers name on the ESC? If it's like the other hobbywing Ezrun, then it's programmable. I would look for any indication of manufacturer/model # on the ESC and try googling that.
Maybe a dumb question, but you are double-clicking the throttle to get it into reverse aren't you?

RE: Twister xtg Pro problems.
I have the same problem with reverse but mine does work occasionally with some tweaking of the trim. Since it occasionally works I doubt if ESC programming will help but I'll look into it.
I also would like to know if the Spur Gear or other parts cross reference to another mfr. with better parts availability. The Twister XTG-Pro runs circles around my neighbors Traxxas and he paid quite a bit more for his but he can drive 2 miles to the nearest hobby shop and get whatever he needs. I have to order from RedCat in Az., which always takes at least a week and costs $8.75 minimum shipping, even if I need a $3 part!!!

Twister XTG-Pro, for the price my only complaint is parts availability.

I still say the ESC was set with Forward/No Reverse from the factory. Maybe a LHS or someone else has a programmer but it's worth it to buy your own.

Get a programmer, mine didn't work correctly either, and I used the programmer to change a few options, like neutral range and some other stuff, and Ive had no problems
