Default No lipo for the factory brushless ESC?

Am I to understand that the factory esc that comes in the brushless vehicles does not accept lipo batteries?

I'm pretty sure I heard someone saying that they did. I could be wrong though, we don't sell vary many of the Electrics.

I ask because I read the manual for the brushless esc on Redcats website and it said 6-12 cells NiCD/NiMH. No mention of lipo at all.

You can use a LiPo with it, but you must make sure to either use a Low Voltage Detection (LVD)/Low Voltage Cuttoff (LVC) or make sure to stop running the car when you notice the slightest change in power

you can use a lipo battery with it. We reccomend using only a 7.2 or 8.4 volt lipo.
