Ordering a Volcano. Need Spare parts suggestions
Hi all,
I am just now getting into RC good, and i want the Nitro power of a Volcano. I need to know what parts to order with it for spares. From reading around, i have gathered i need extra glow plugs, especially for break in procedures.
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks,
Merc

RE: Ordering a Volcano. Need Spare parts suggestions
extra glow plugs for sure, and be sure you have air filter oil and after run oil
i imagine it is different for everyone, but the things I personally tend to break, damage or lose (in order from most used to least) include dog bones, axles, arms (especially front), pins for the arms, drive cups, diff gears and exhaust gaskets - you will also need to change out the bearings from time to time, especially if you run in dusty dirty conditions - you can go a long time without stripping a spur gear if it is meshed just right, but that is another really common part to need, especially when you are new
outside of breakage, there are a few items I would look to upgrade pretty quickly on the Volcano - bearings, shocks, servos, exhaust header, tuned pipe and air filter - I believe the Volcano comes stock with brass bushings on the axles, not ball bearings - they will wear out soon anyway, and you should upgrade to bearings right away - the shocks, unless they are already the upgraded shocks, will be leaking soon (consider TMaxx shocks or the aluminum upgrades) - the servos will start glitching soon - and the header, although adequate, is not very good, and a new header and pipe will give a nice performance improvement (consider part 02031A and 02124) - the air filter is the same, adequate but not so great (consider a Motor Saver)
good luck

Besides the normal wear items on Nitros the most common broken parts on any car or truck is normally the arms, hubs and shock towers.
